♡Marinette's POV♡

And once again, Marinette was back in her room. It was no surprise after the dreaded "Vomit Incident," which would be kept as a secret from everyone but her family. She was feeling much better physically, especially after brushing her teeth, getting the disgusting taste of bile out of her mouth, but was too mentally beat down to move from the spot she was in, not to mention reach over to grab the remote to change the channel. Her mother turned it to the news while she was sleeping, unbeknownst to her that the reason why she hurled was because of the stupid news channel.

So when Marinette saw Ladybug standing atop the Louvre, she felt like puking again.

And that's the reason she lay on the floor, blankets from her bed surrounding her and a pillow pressed to her face, from trying to block out the noise.

This was the first moment ever that she despised Mrs. Chamack.

Marinette helplessly looked up at the glass of water on her bedside table. She closed her eyes, trying not to focus on the muffled voices coming from the television. She just wished that the bad feelings she had would disappear. That something would distract her.

Suddenly, a black figure shot through her window, yelling "Shit!" painfully as it hit the bed.

Marinette wanted to scream, but all that came out of her mouth was a small squeak. She wanted a distraction, not a leather-clad cat busting into her room.

But it technically counted as a distraction, but definitely not the one Marinette was hoping for.

Chat shakily stood up, rubbing the top of his head angrily. He searched the room until his eyes fixed onto Marinette. She slowly filled her lungs and held her breath as she saw him take in every feature on her face.

Once, her voice started working, she built up the courage to speak. "Um, so i-if you're done checking me out, would you-"

"Shut up," he said harshly. Chat shut his eyes tightly before opening them again and moving his hands up and down in a reassuring way. "Sorry, but, just, please."

He brushed the strands of hair covering her ear aside and inspected closely. Marinette gulped and covered her blush with her hands. She knew exactly what he was looking for.

She heard Chat let out a string of curse words as he fell to the floor with a thump. She cringed and her heart ached.

"Listen, I-I'm sorry, I just-" she started after swallowing the lump in her throat, but then she felt gloved hands grab her wrists and move her fingers away from her face.

"Why'd you do it?" He asked her with a pained face.

After seeing his expression, Marinette was reduced to a sobbing mess, collapsing into Chat's chest. She felt his arms reluctantly wrap around her body and holding her to him. He rested his chin on the top of her head and rubbed her back in a comforting manner.

"I'm s-sorry," she hiccuped and nestled her head in the crook of his neck without a second thought. "I just thought th-that if I gave my M-Miraculous back, all the g-guilt would be g-gone."

"Guilt of what?" Chat asked softly.

"O-of treating you so badly," Marinette choked. "I was so c-confused when I saw that the two boys that I had the b-biggest crushes on were the same people, so I kinda pressed the p-panic button, and . . ." She let out another sob. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not being strong, for being such a bully."

Chat laughed and tilted her head up to his face, a small blush dusting his cheeks. "You weren't a bully, M'Lady! You were just scared and confused and didn't know how to react. Everyone feels that way sometimes. That's what makes you human."
