For a moment I wanted to be entranced by the devil, to let the curiosity of what a cigarette would taste like haunt my lungs. But, taking no risk, I step back from him and wag a finger.

"Just because you have been teaching me knew fighting skills doesn't mean you can kiss me."

He gives a short laugh, "What a tease." He winked a lash-filled eyelid, and playfully elbowed my side. "It's too bad."

"Shut up," I smirk, slapping my foot to the back of his knee. He jumps, reaching a rack, and tossed me an apple.

"I would if you just gave into temptation." He snapped a finger, bites into his own washed-red apple, and headed out the back door humming his own song.

I looked down at my red apple, then decided I wasn't hungry anymore and placed it softly on the metal counter for someone else to find.

I may be evil, but my job was to give temptation- not become it.
