Day Off

Phil's POV
I woke up late today, so I went downstairs to check if Amy was awake. As I walk downstairs I hear the TV, so now I KNOW she is awake. I see hugging her plushy and laughing. I check what horrible modern kids cartoon she is watching; I smile when I hear the Pokemon theme.
"Gotta catch em' all!" I sing. Amelia laughs.
"Daddy! Can we go out today? Pleeeaase." She pouts. Dan comes downstairs, and carries her. Amy jumps out of his arms and tugs on my pants.
"Dad! Cmon please!" I shake my head and sigh.
"Ok then, let's go to the park!" She cheers. She flies and hugs me tightly, before zooming to her room and changing into a jumper.
"You sure?" Dan asks as I grab my shoes. I nod.
"Yep, she's totally ready" he shrugs and zips up his black boots. Amy come in the room with her skate board we bought her. She wanted it so bad, and even if Dan hesitated at first she ended up buying it.
"You got your helmet?" I ask. She shakes her head and quickly gets it.

We arrive at the park, there's not many kids. Amy smiles and runs off to the skating rink. I quickly follow her. She happily places her skateboard on the hard ground. Some teenagers start to approach her. I walk forward and so does Dan. The last thing we want is for her to be bullied. They stop, the smile and kneel down to her height. I chestnut haired boy grabs her, he must be 8 or 9, another chestnut haired boy smiles at him, he looks very similar. They must be brothers. They help her get up and show her how to properly use a skateboard.
Dan walks a bit, but I decide to stop him. Amy was about to learn how to skateboard.

After watching Amy skateboard for about an hour, me and Dan decided to give it a try. I mean we were young again right? A kid lends me his skateboard, I slowly get on it. As I try to move a bit, I start to slowly roll down the small ramp. I sigh and in between breaths I let out excited chuckles.
"Omg Dan I'm doing it!" I hear him chuckle.
"Yep, that's what it looks like." Dan says in a sarcastic matter. Victory for the great Phillion!

We arrive home, and Dan is carrying Amy to her bedroom. She couldn't stop talking about how she managed to skateboard. I for one was proud that she was living a relatively normal life, and the best part about that is that we were the ones giving her that happiness. If she had been raised by her mom, she could've been living a life full of blood. That's the last thing I would like her to do.

Amelia runs out of her bedroom and jumps into my arms, I laugh and hug her tightly. Her pale and cold skin against my hands. Dan comes running into the room which makes Amelia immediately squirm out of my arms. She wraps her hands around Dan's neck. He laughs and carries her properly.
"I don't want to go to sleep, daddy." she pouts. Dan sighs and looks at me for a second before looking at Amy again.
"What do you want to do then?" He asks, his voice soft with a hint of sarcasm. Amy scratches her chin and then looks at the computer.
"Movie night!" Dan looks over at me, I shrug and grab the laptop and sit down. Amy sits in the middle, hugging me tightly. Dan turns it on and puts Netflix.
"What do you want to watch?" I ask ask as I gently pet her head.
"Coraline." She says happily. Most kids would be afraid at her age, but she doesn't seem to mind. Dan puts on the movie and everything goes quiet.
"See, daddy? That's Coraline and-" Dan cuts her off.
"I know sweetie, watch the film." He smiles and clicks 'play'. Amy had a habit of watching movies and then explaining them to you. Which can bug Dan sometimes. He looks at me me and rolls his perfect chestnut brown eyes. I gently kiss Amy's head.
