The Call

As I walked, I shoved my hands in my pockets, letting out a large sigh.
Karamatsu was nice enough, and I was relieved be wasn't too much of a creep. At Least, from what I've seen so far.

I shrugged. I didn't really expect to see him again. It was just a random encounter. And besides, I didn't get his number or address or anything. Why would I? I barely knew him.

I continued through the rest of my day, hanging out with my host sister. She showed me around the city, taking me to different stores and attractions.  Karamatsu didn't really cross my mind at all the rest of the day, until we got back home.

I sat on the edge of my bed, shoving my hands into my pockets once again. This time, I felt a small paper folded up inside. I raised an eyebrow, confused. I didn't remember putting anything in my pockets today.

I took it in between my index finger and thumb, and pulled it out to examine what exactly it was. I unfolded it, squinting at it, still mildly confused.

"Feel free to call me anytime, my Karamatsu girl..." And it was followed by his number.

I almost burst out laughing. First off, when the hell did he get this in my pocket? And why the hell does he think I'm just gonna call him?
Suddenly, my host sister came bounding into the room, and she sat beside me,

"Hey! What's that?"
She asked, pointing to the paper

I laughed this time,
"I met this guy at that coffee place down the street this morning and he must've slid this in my pocket  when I had my guard down. "

I handed it to her, and she took it, looking it over,
"Soooo you gonna call him?"

She looked over at me, looking at me expectantly.
I was a bit taken aback. I hadn't expected her to ask that.

"What? Why would I call him? I barely know him."

She raised an eyebrow, smirking at me,
"Because. You're here to have fun and have new experiences right? Come on. Call him. It'll be worth your while. I know it."

I sighed, taking the slip of paper back, and eyeing it.
"I dunno... you really think I should? What if he turns out to be a serious creep? Or a serial killer?"

She laughed, playfully hitting me in the arm,
"Hey if he tries anything weird, let me know. I'll beat him up for you. But really, I want you to go for it!"

I felt a small grin pulling at the edge of my lips, and I nodded. She WAS right. I was here to have fun and try new things.

"Augh-alright. You got me. I'll call him."

She grinned, and gave me another playful shove,
"Alright, I'll leave you alone then so you two can chat."

I had opened my mouth to protest, but she ran out before I had any time to change my mind. I chuckled a bit, rolling my eyes, and pulling out my cell phone.

Slowly I dialed the number, ensuring that each one was correct. I pressed call, and brought the phone to my ear, listening intently to the tone. I had almost completely spaced out by the time I finally heard someone else's voice on the other line.

I swallowed,
"Hello? Is this Karamatsu?"
