As I make my way into the gym I hear my name called, I look to my left to see Nylan running towards me.

"Hey... I just came from the office, I got my schedule changed. I saw you coming from that direction and tried to catch up with you." He said out of breath. "Did you get a schedule change too?"

"Yah, I got switched into chemistry honors." I said hopeful that he did too.

"Yayyyyy, I did too!!" He practically shrieked.

Our gym class had already started playing basketball, so against much persistent begging from Nylan, I sat out and watched them, frankly because I'm terrible. Nylan on the other hand was AMAZING; I lost count of how many three-pointers he sunk and lay-ups he made.

I caught my self staring at him one of the times he was taking a shot. I was drastically embarrassed, but he seemed to think it was cute and smiled at me. I stopped myself from staring throughout the rest of the game, it was surprisingly difficult.

After the game was over he ran over to me.

"You should join in next time," he said, "I will teach you how to be a master" We both chuckled knowing that was impossible.

"I'm okay, I'm not very good, but wow... You were amazing. Do you play for the school team?" I asked

"Nope, the guys on the team here are weird, but I did play on a team out of school up until the end of middle school. I really miss it though, that's why I take advantage of the gym days when we play." He explained.

"Hey I have a question...Do you know Justin Brewer?"

Immediate anger flooded over me *oh god I hope he doesn't know anything about last year* I thought.

"Umm yah..." I muttered.

"Oh." He said disappointedly, "so your dating him?"

"Oh no! No no no!" I liked him last year but he was a jerk, I don't know what I saw in him." I laughed a bit, trying to bring humor to the situation.

"He came up to me yesterday and said that he saw us talking and I need to back off of you." Nylan said.

I shook my head and said "sounds like something he would do. I'm sorry about that, but I SWARE him and I are not a thing, we never have been, and we never will be." I said

"I believe you" he said reassuringly, " but I got to go, catch you tomorrow?"

"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow." I turned away.

That night I was conflicted, I didn't know if Nylan likes me or not. He had seemed dissapointed when he though Justin and I were dating, but it seemed like he just wanted to be friends. I decided to wait the situation out, I didn't need a boyfriend and there are so many more guys out there. If it never clicks between me and Nylan I will just have to move on.
