It's was Friday and here I was sitting on a bar stool trying to figure out my life. This last week had took its toll. How dare Darell think he could not talk to me for 2 months then just pop up out of no where as soon as I start getting use to not having him around. How dare he think I would just be waiting for him to come back. I mean.. I had been waiting ...at first, but still that gives him no right to just leave me hanging like that. In limbo.... waiting. ... alone. I was not his play thing. It was because of him I had to cancel my coffee date with Laurent. I actually wanted to go out with him. But Darrell decided he wanted to go out to breakfast the day of our date, and like an idiot I obliged him. Laurent took it ok tho I think. I mean I just told him that something came up. He understood. He even texted me the next day. He's still trying to take me out . Which is cute ,but then Darell saw the texts in my phone and started in on this tirade about how I'm unfaithful and who was this man i was cheating with. Which completely caught me off guard because I mean where the hell was this and you for that matter 2 months ago. Then there was work and the stress I had on me for planning this year Summer Jam for the radio station. What I needed was a brake. A vacation to some place quite, sunny, and stress free. As I'm sitting on my bar stool a figure comes up behind me.

" can I buy you a drink?" a man with an french accent asks

I turn looking up to find Laurent standing behind me. All tall fine and dressed in all black expect his hair was different. Gone was his fluffy afro replaced by long slick twists. They were weave but for some strange reason they fit him.

"How'd you know I'd be here?" I ask chuckling at him.

"I remember"

"You remembered?"

"Yes from the first time we meet." He replies pleased with himself. "You tell me this you favorite place to go on Friday."

"I did?..... I must a been drunk"

To be honest I was kinda drunk now. The only thing keeping me from the floor was this bar stool. Laurent moves to my left and sits down. With a serious look on his face he asks

"Trei do you like me?"

I'm caught off guard.

"Ummm.... yea I like you I guess."

"You guess?" He looks confused

"Listen Laurent..."

"You always say Laurent.... call me Lau everyone do"

"OK Lau.... it's just.... umm... I kinda have a boyfriend."

"Oh a boyfriend." He looks surprised. " then why you go to dinner with me?"

"Because I wanted to... hmm let me explain."

I then proceed to tell him about Darell and our on again off again relationship. How he disappeared for 2 months, then just popped back up out the blue. And finally how I was dumb enough to let him back in. Into my life into world. And like the gentlemen he was Laurent listened till the end and said.

"So why you wait?.... why you let him leave you hanging... you deserve better.... you deserve me." He grins. Which causes me to grin too.

"Idk... when u leave something some place and forget about it. It still stays there."

"Yes but when you come back it's never the same." He says handing the bartender a 20 and standing to leave. "Call me when you ready to not be the same" and with that he kisses my forehead and walks out. Leaving me to pounder rather I wanted everything to stay the same.
