Just a few heartbeats
One, two
Is only what it takes for things to break
In a blink of an eye
The years go by
Things die
Things change
People come and people go
Without letting you know
Some things are fixed
Some things are left broken
Some others, just like they never existed, are replaced
We breathe happiness
Well surrounded and filled with love
But dear,
Time slips away
Hearts turn to stone
Eyes cry
Feelings become numb
While souls die
And minds go insane
All it takes is just a second
One second
For it to all fall
Yet we still on making the same mistake
We focus on the uninteresting
Then we cry on what our hearts claim only when it's gone
Friendship, family, love
We think they are eternal
Or at least we convince ourselves it is
Until it leaves our hearts to stay in our memories
Bittersweet memories
That remind us what we had
And that we didn't took the time to appreciate
Then the storm of regret shows up
For all those precious moments we lost
For all those priceless people we loved
No one knows how much time still remains
Before it's too late
Before it all goes away
Maybe we still have years, months, days left...
Or just a few heartbeats
One, two
