Hand to Hand combat training

          About 3 months had passed in the trainee, Cody was blowing past all of the training with Crow and Saturi ahead of him. Ace was leading his group and Amara was at the top of her little group. "Hey you're Cody right?" Cody turned and looked down at Amara. She looked up to him, her eyes were cold, her hair was long and blonde in a small bun, she brushed her bangs from her eyes and gave a soft smirk. "You're the 2nd best in the boys class right?" Cody shrugged. "Yeah pretty much... if you're hoping to strike a nerve I doubt you'll get what you want..." Cody was about to turn and walk off before she grabbed his arm.
          "N-no I didn't come here to make fun of you..." She looked down and twiddling her fingers. "I was actually wondering if you'd want to hang out with me and a few of my friends after the hand to hand combat training today..." Cody smiled softly. "Sure, I'd be delighted..." Amara walked off with a deep blush as she returned to Christa and the others. "W-what did he say???" Christa was blushing as well. "H-he said yes... next time you talk to him!" Christa jumped up a bit. "Wow Leonhardt, aren't you supposed to be the calmest of us? and he made YOU as red as a tomato? gee he must be prince charming or something..." Amara looked back at Cody and then turned away.
"Hey Jay, I think that Cody guy was talking to your girl..." Jay shrugged "so?" Ace threw his hands up "well OBVIOUSLY he has a thing for her... you're gonna have to go fight for your love!" Jay looked at Cody and looked away nervously. "Eh I don't know man..." Ace shrugged as Mike walked by and joined the conversation. "I mean if he takes Amara from you, you'll have nothing..." Jay rolled his eyes "fine I'll go talk to him..."Jay reluctantly walked over to Cody, looking back with every few steps.
"Hey man..." Cody turned and looked slightly up to meet Jay's eyes. His eyes cold and piercing, "gah... his eyes are so scary..." Jay thought to himself but moved on anyway. "I don't know what plans you have with my girl, but you better cancel them..." Cody put his left hand in his pocket and looked Jay dead in the eyes pulling him down to his level. "Don't tell me what to do and we'll get along just fine..." Jay took a few steps back and then walked up to Cody again looking down at him. "Look here pip-squ-" that's as far as Jay got before falling to the ground, Crane and Saturi were standing over him looking down, Crane had his fists clenched like he was ready for a fight. Saturi on the other hand gave a cold look that said "go away" Cody just stood there with his hands in his pockets, he closed his eyes and shook his head as he walked away with Crane and Saturi following him.
          "Woah Jay!" Ace and Mike ran over helping Jay up, Brando came over too helping him to his feet. "You shouldn't mess with Cody, his little group will break you in half... Saturi being among the top 5 in the girls and Crane being number 1 among the guys. Fighting all 3 of them is a death sentence." Brando dusted Jay's back off and then gestured to the other guys to follow him since hand to hand combat training was about to begin.
"Alright maggots... now it's time for a bit of hand to hand combat fighting, don't think you're gonna get away with half assing this fight. Go all out but, first to fall loses." Each trainee was partnered with 1 other trainee, one holding a knife and the other with their bare hands, the purpose of the exercise was to see who can take down a rogue soldier if the situation called for it.
          However, as we would in any situation we're only going to focus on the main characters. Ace was partnered with Cody, Jay got Crane, Brando got Mike, Curt got Ken, and Crane was going up against Brian as well. "I hope you're ready for this shorty..." Cody smirked and pulled his fists up ready to fight, he didn't get the knife on this turn. "Fine, bring it on..." Ace made a mad charge towards Cody with the knife trying to stab him, Cody stepped to the side grabbing Ace's arm and sweeping his leg disarming him of the knife. "Was that it?" Cody twirled the knife around in his hand. "Get up, it's my turn..." Ace stood up reluctantly and held his fists up. He was mad, and Cody could see it in his eyes.
Cody spun the knife around in his hands and tossed it up into the air, high, like... really high. Ace charged towards Cody knowing that if he landed a hit he would be considered the winner. Cody leaned to the right dodging the right jab, he then ducked dodging the left hay maker. Ace dropped down and tried to sweep Cody's leg but Cody jumped up and caught the knife which was falling back to him. Upon landing Cody threw a left jab and then kicked Ace square in the stomach, Ace coughed and was thrown back. Cody walked towards him slowly twirling the knife around in his hand. He kneeled down next to Ace and stuck the knife into the ground. "Next time you shouldn't keep your stance so open..." Cody walked away with his hands in his pockets getting all of his points for that day. "oh and one more thing... if you or any other trainee ever goes rogue... I will slaughter you..."
