There is an option for adding images at the top of any chapter in a Wattpad story.
You can use it or ignore it, both are good.
If you ignore it:
No one really bothers. It doesn't seem as if something is off or missing. We're good.
If you use it:
You can make the best use of this and add either a cover/banner, or a picture relevant to the said chapter.
The reader will think that the author is a thoughtful person and has wisely chosen the additional fun stuff supplementing the story. The reader will feel happy (or not, but s/he definitely won't feel sad) and the interest in the story will be heightened. The reader might even drop a comment/PM praising the artwork.
You can make the worst use of it by adding ridiculous and hideous pictures of your favourite cartoon characters, random people, things, yourself, your family, places that are not connected to the story, etc.
The reader will think that the author doesn't care about the story and throws together whatever pictures s/he finds on the Web. Eventually, the reader too will stop caring about the story. Some images are so ridiculously misplaced that they have the potential to cause the reader to pull at their hair and cry, cursing their ill-fate as to why they chose that particular story. Praising is a far-fetched thought.
The choice is yours.
