Don't be surprised, Beautiful Girl. You may not have known it, but you were doing a pretty good job at being an actress all along.

Don't believe me? Consider all the times you've held back tears. When you smile back instead of yelling back. When you keep looking over your shoulder and going forward at the same time.

What about all the public speaking you have to do at social events? Sure, there's no stage and no captive audience, but there's the line of elders, full of questions. If you put together all your replies to all the questions, it would make a speech. Only, the speech would sound like a broken record, with the same topics being revisited repeatedly.

I don't need to explain more about what it means to be an actress. However, when you realize that you're an actress, and a good one at that, it creates mixed feelings. You understand that the number of people who don't require an acting performance can be counted on the fingers of one hand. It saddens you that you even need to act in front of your parents sometimes.

Still, it shouldn't bother you. Being a good actress doesn't mean you are two-faced. It just means you know how to move around in society. If you put your heart on your sleeve, people will step on it. Be practical. Be good at acting.

But when you need to, you should stop acting. Don't do that around just anyone. You should know when to lower your defenses.

You should...

I think I hear Mama. Oops.
