Chapter 5: Quick Glance

Alden's POV

The party will start any minute so I am totally prepared right now.

I was just playing a game application at my phone when my bracelet suddenly drop at the floor. I pick it up, I saw that the lock loose but I still want to wear it because it is valuable for me.

"Welcome to all of you, ladies and gentlemen. To the family business partners, investors and associates, thank you for coming tonight. We like to show our deepest gratitude so we prepare this presentation for you." I heard the speaker, I also prepare myself.

The presentation is actually a power point presentation. I know what's in it. Those are my father's idea. He put the things happened, how our company run in the business world. Even the achievements, accomplishments and awards we got, he put it all in that presentation.

When it finally finished, I saw everyone wear a similar reactions. Amazement, impressed and envy that is the reaction of most of the people.

I saw the only one who wear a different reaction. A woman who look not so interested who currently talking to.....Sam. She just look like adorable even I can't  even see her face clearly. My thought interrupted when dad speak at the microphone.

"That is how our company grow and I want to announce that the company will be now taken by my son soon. I know he is a great man like me and I so sure he can do better than me. I invited all of you to know it personally from me, you can trust my son just like how I trust him. To my dear business partners and investors thank you for coming. For now on, I would like my son to celebrate his 18th birthday. Alden Richards, my son come here."

As I heard my father called my name, that is my cue. I immediately go to the stage and joined my father at the platform that was placed at the front of all the guess.

"Thank you dad." I simply mouthed to him. He just pat me at my back.

"My son, you know that everything that you have done, me and your father will always be proud of you. I know you can make our business grow. You can do it son!" My mother said cheerfully with some childish gestures while saying those things. Everyone laugh because of her.

My father and me just smile and shook our heads to what Mom had done earlier. Me, my mother and specially my father. It  is the first time I felt like we are connected.

A few minutes after what we had done in the stage, everything happen was all just a polite greeting from some people I really do not know personally or they are not even familiar.

When Patty (the girl whom was Sam was so interested) suddenly appear and she also greeted me. The only one person who still not greeting me was Sam.

Time passed by but I did not bother finding him I just know that he is so energetic. I know Sam is enjoying this day than me. I am the birthday celebrant, I should be happy than anyone else in this place.

My father suddenly disappear at my sight but then he called me, he was telling me to go to the hospital. I had a bad feeling about that so I run as much as I can to go to the parking lot but I accidental bumped into someone.....

"Ouch! Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see you because you just came running." She apologized quickly but I know it was also my fault.

"I-I'm sorry, I am r-really sorry. If you'll excuse me, I'm in a hurry." I am stuttering because of being so much worry but I manage to say it sincerely. I run away and I saw her face at that fast. I did not saw it clearly.

She has something special to her aura. Ughhhhh, I should not think about anything for this time. I must hurry!!!
