“She won’t remember a thing,” said a man. “All her memories have been erased.”

“Do you really want to continue this?” asked a woman. “We don’t know what sort of…creature that might result in this. Maybe we should just kill her while she’s out.”

“Everything will go as smooth as butter,” reassured the man. “Nothing can go wrong.” He looked at the unconscious girl lying on the table. “She should wake in a week or so.”

“This doesn’t feel right,” said the woman. “It feels unethical.”

The man looked up in surprise. “Since when did you have morals? Anyways, we’re doing this Accident a favor.”

“You’re right. I’m being silly.” The woman checked her watch. “I have to get going. Meeting with potential recruits.”

She walked out of the operation room. The man brushed a lock of hair away from the girl’s face. Then he murmured, “Sweet dreams. When you wake up, you won’t be Kristi Shea anymore. You’ll be a new person.”
