When I got home, it was 3:00. We were driving around for about an hour for fun.

Ugh, what am I gonna tell grandpa, 'well, I was riding around with some cute teenage boys in the bed of a truck without any parental supervision and I also almost got my head cracked open, and a concussion.' No, I couldn't tell him all of that, it would make him too worried and I would be at that camp for the whole year. I was gonna lie.

Grandpa walked in and asked me where I had been. (I was to be home at 2:33)

"Well, I got a bit held up, you see, I was already walking home really slow because of all this heavy stuff I was carrying and I was a also getting chased by this rabid dog into an alley a couple blocks away and I tried to get home as quickly as I could." I said trying put on my best acting face possible.

"Well ok as long as you didn't ride home with any boys in a dark blue truck, I saw you guys pull in, you need to work on your lying skills Ruby, you didn't have to lie, I don't get mad over you liking boys." Grandpa said with a teasing smirk.

"Thanks grandpa, I'm sorry I lied, by the way where's grandma?" I asked.

"She went out to the market to pick up some fruit and veggies for tonight's dinner." Grandpa replied.

"Ok cool, by the way.....can I go to this party on Friday with the boys who drove me home, their parents are having it and they said they would even drive me to and from the party." I plead.

"Its ok with me." Grandpa said with a smile.

"Cool, I have to go call them and tell them I'm going." I said walking to my room.

I grab my phone and dial Hunter's number. I wait a moment and he answers.

"What's up, brunette?" Hunter says playfully.

"Hey, nothing much, I just wanted to call and tell you that I can come to the party Friday..."

"Ok cool, I'll pick you up at 5:00."

"Ok bye."

"Bye."
