"Wait! Don't leave me here!" I struggled to run as fast as I can to catch up with Erin. "I'll tell mom and auntie that you're teasing me again!"
We were at the woods behind our house. Erin told me that I would see a deer and convinced me to go with him. I forgot the fact that this is a private area and no animals can freely roam around here.
Getting past the large bushes was hard and it was getting dark already. My shoes were dirty from all the mud. Erin was out of sight. Tears welled up on my eyes as I realized I was lost.
"This... This is not a good joke!" I yelled as I tried to hold back my tears.
I jumped as I heard rustles at the bushes nearby. My tears couldn't hold back anymore. Faint sobs escaped through my mouth as I waited for anything to happen. I screamed as I felt a hand touch my shoulder.
"Are you alright?" A boy appeared from behind me. He looked a few years older than me; he looked like he's about thirteen years old. His hair was quite long and jet black, but the first thing I noticed were his eyes. They were color hazel. My favorite color.
"I asked if you're alright. Can you hear me?" He asked again.
I shook my head and wiped the tears dry. "Sorry, I was just scared. I got lost and I don't know where to go."
"Liz!" Erin appeared from our of nowhere. He was out of breath. "I'm so sorry! I didn't realize you weren't behind me anymore. I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to scare you like that."
Erin looked at the boy who was right beside me. His eyes changed from worry to displeasure. "Why are you here?"
"I heard a girl scream and went to the woods. You shouldn't scare her like that. And it's dangerous to go deep in the woods," he said simply, ignoring Erin's facial expression.
'They knew each other?' I thought to myself. "Erin, let's go back. Mom will be worried, and I'll be sure to tell her what you did!" I turned to the boy with hazel eyes and bowed. "Thank you so much."
Erin got hold of my hand, and we went on ahead. I turned my head to see if he's coming but the boy already disappeared.
I woke up at the sun hitting my face. It was already morning, close to noon to be exact. I skipped school today. We working with the movie all night and my eyes felt heavy.
Jane wasn't anywhere in the apartment. I looked at my phone and saw a text from her saying that she needed to head back.
There were only a few things left to do so I texted her back and said thank you. I was surprised to get a reply a few seconds later saying: 'Good luck and get a boyfriend already. You're wasting your beauty, girl. :)' I didn't respond and left my phone at my table.
My room was a mess. Scraps of papers and coloring materials were all over, but my equipment were already stashed neatly inside my dry cabinet. Jane must have put it there.
Erin must have went to school this morning since he was nowhere to be seen. There was breakfast at the table already. I ate and fixed everything around the house before I can go back to work on my film.
I was able to finish everything by nightfall. School ended a few hours ago but Erin still isn't home. I am starting to wonder where he goes after school. He doesn't seem to be very close to any of the people there.
My head felt very light headed and I'm already hungry. It's a good thing the convenient store was just a few steps away from where I live.
"It's been a while since I last saw you here," the cashier asked. He smiled at me as I approached the counter.
