"Aw, no Japanese food?" Erin disappointedly whined as we sat down the dining table. I nudged his sides and cast him a warning look.
"I figured that you all would want to eat something western. But if you would like, we can serve Japanese food starting tomorrow," said auntie. Erin beamed.
"That's great! I have always wanted to taste the food here Ms. Okada," Mia said.
"Good to hear, dear." Auntie smiled and we began eating.
"By the way, before you start your tour tomorrow of the place around here. I would have to inform you all that you would all need three security escorts. Lately there has been cases of kidnapping of foreign tourists so I figured I need to do this. Don't worry, your bodyguards are former FBI agents so you all will be safe."
I checked the latest news in Japan lately and I don't remember reading anything about that. "Is this being kept secret from other countries, auntie? I haven't seen any news about that."
"Yes, actually it's being kept secret because the government thinks that it might disrupt the tourism in Japan."
I remembered the feeling I had earlier. I tried shrugging off the thought and figured it might just be my imagination. It was hard trying to keep focus on the conversation while I thought of this.
"Are you okay, Liz?" Erin asked.
I shook my head and told him that I was just tired. Auntie insisted that we should all go to our rooms after dinner so that we can rest. I agreed.
Everything in my room looked expensive that not even my life can buy half of it. The bed was big enough to fit four people in. There was also a balcony that showed the view of the ocean. It was breathtaking.
The door suddenly opened and I shrieked. I calmed down when I saw it was just Mia.
"Sorry for scaring you. Nice and comfy, huh? Your family's amazing, Liz. It seems that all your relatives are rich."
"No, my aunt is rich. I only used to be one, but I just want to live a simple life."
"I know what you mean. By the way, I saw Erin trying to sneak in earlier. But he was caught by one of the maids. He looked really disappointed." She and I laughed.
Mia and I talked for a while as we watched television. One of the maids knocked and offered us some snacks and we accepted. I was tired but I should make this vacation worthwhile and make the most of it.
"What my aunt told us earlier is scaring me for a bit," I told Mia.
"Why? We have three big body guards to look after us. We'll be fine."
"No, I mean I actually felt someone watching me earlier when I was with Erin in the garden. There wasn't anyone around but it is still giving me the creeps."
Mia paused for a few seconds before answering. "Let's just hope we won't get kidnapped."
"That's one of the things that's getting me thinking. I tried asking my aunt about how she makes a living but she said that she's partnered in some major companies in Japan. I actually checked her studies earlier but there aren't any documents there indicating that she is one. I tried asking the maids and attendants here but they refuse to tell me anything; some of them actually didn't speak english."
"You're paranoid, Liz. And you're being too sneaky. You shouldn't worry about that. Today is Christmas! Your aunt told us that we will be going to a late visit at a temple tomorrow, and we will get to wear Christmas Yukatas. Isn't that great? I insist on doing your hair!"
Not arguing any further, we continued watching a Japanese drama we could hardly understand while we stuffed ourselves with chips and tea. Mia then went back to her room after an hour.
It's now quiet. The area around the balcony looked dark. I closed the curtains because it was a bit scary. I then heard a knock on the door.
"Who's there?" I called out. No one answered back but continued to knock.
I tried asking again in Japanese. "そこいるのは誰?" (Soko iru no wa dare? [Who is there?])
"Liz, it's me Erin. Let me in quick. One of the maids might catch me again," Erin said.
I opened the door for Erin and he hurriedly went inside. "Jeez, Erin! You scared the hell out of me. Why weren't you answering?"
"Someone might hear me so I thought I'd just knock. I didn't know you spoke Japanese. That was very good. I actually thought that I was in the wrong room."
"I only know a bit since I was here often with my mom during vacations," I explained. I turned my back to him and started fixing the mess that me and Mia made earlier. A few moments later, I felt his hand grab my waist and pulled me into a gentle hug from behind.
"I miss you, Liz."
"What are you talking about? We live together and see each other everyday."
"No, that's not what I was talking about. I miss the old you."
I paused for a few minutes and continued cleaning. "This is me and start accepting it and-"
Erin suddenly pulled me into his arms. His lips and mine joined together into a sweet and passionate kiss. This is what I missed.
My mind was going hazy. It felt like we were like that for a few hours. I was expecting more, but he hasn't done anything more that that. So I decided to take the initiative.
I pulled him to my bed and surprised that he didn't argue. He seemed into it more than I expected. We continued to kiss. He was holding me on my waist. I felt his hands move up and down as I gently removed the buttons of his shirt. I can smell his perfume and it's intoxicating.
He stopped. "Liz. I can't. I won't be able to..."
I looked into his eyes. He looked unsure, but it did not seem like he wants to stop. "Erin. Please?"
He didn't respond but he pulled me onto him. His kisses had a hint of fierceness. It felt like he was really holding back for a while.
I was on top of him. My mouth fell open as I saw his upper body. He looked like a god. His shirt was completely off and he only had his pants. I was still fully clothed.
"Are you sure about this?" he asked.
Instead of answering, I took off my blouse leaving my bra on. I looked at him, waiting for his response.
He grinned. "I'll take that as a 'yes' then."
Everything seemed like it happened so fast. The night was quiet and all I can hear are our synchronised breathing. This is going to be a long and beautiful night.
To be continued. I would have to continue this on the next chapter ;) R and R everyone. And again, sorry for the grammatical errors, if there are any.
