~Ty~

When I woke up, I got scared, not knowing where I was until I remembered.

I wasn't dreaming...I actually got away...

Being careful of my ankle, I stretched, which honestly felt good until I remembered how sore I was, and groaned out in pain. I can't go anywhere like this...Looks like I'm just going to have to stay here, maybe until I feel good enough to get up.

That could take a while though....

While walking earlier, I fortunately found a hoodie. It was white, but it looked a little dirty and used, so it looked dull. I took it anyhow, just in case. It didn't seem like anyone was looking for it anyhow...

I decided that now would be a good time to put it on, despite it not being that cold outside, and put the hood up, folding my ears against my head.

I didn't want to be seen....but I needed food and some water. I sighed, and mentally willed myself to try and get back up, despite my throbbing ankle and being sore all over in general.

I did as best as I could to cover the bruise on my cheek, which was now a little faded, and the newly formed one on my jaw. I didn't want to be questioned. I looked into the reflection of a closed window, and gave a little smile. Bruise successfully hidden good enough.

My ankle and limping I couldn't really do anything about, so if anyone were to ask, I could say I tripped and fell. Now where to find food and water? It's not like I have any money, I'm a fucking Neko. I tucked my tail in my jeans as well as to not cause suspicion, though I'll admit that it wasn't exactly comfortable.

I put my hand on the brick wall as I hobbled out of the alleyway and onto the sidewalk, where people were walking, seeing how it wasn't night time yet.

I must have slept for quite a while...

Though it was summer, as I looked up to the sky, it looked cloudy, like it was going to rain. Sadly, me being part cat, I did not like rain whatsoever.

When my hand left the wall, I tried to put my right foot down as gently as I could. But as soon as the tiniest amount of pressure was on it, I had to bite back a scream as I felt it shoot right up my leg again and I almost fell. Instead, a little whine escaped past my lips as I closed my eyes and took a slow breath in.

You can do this Tyler...You can do this...

I walked as best I could, despite my whole body protesting against it. Sadly, I didn't see any place where I could get anything to eat. Already feeling tired once more, I sighed as I came to a stop at a little park. I decided that since it was going to rain, I probably shouldn't sit. That wouldn't be a good idea.

I stood under the tree, looking at the people walking by. They looked pretty happy with their life, and to be honest, I kind of am too. Even though everything hurts right now, I'm free from being a slave, which made me smile a little. It wasn't until I heard thunder that I finally snapped out of my thoughts, and looked up at the sky.

It looked darker than it had been earlier. I then heard another loud clap of thunder, and before I knew it, I started to feel drops. A few seconds later, it just started to downpour. I yelped as I was already starting to get soaked, even through the hood.

Shit.

Staying under the tree wasn't helping me at all, so I started limping as fast as I could to find some shelter. I wrapped my arms around myself, being cold from the rain. It didn't help as I continued to shiver greatly and painfully limped around. I didn't see any place that I could go to, until I seen a house that would give me a little protection.
