"This is insane." I mumbled to myself as I packed my bags. Yesterday after I hung up with Stefan Maze I tried to conjure up a vision about this whole situation, yet when I tried all I got was a blank. That's when I knew I was taking the job. Whenever I tried to envision the future and only received a blank it meant that it is a vital part of my very own future and for some unknown reason I can't look at my future, only the future of others. So of course I decided that I needed to do this, it didn't help that the beast inside was restless about all of this too.

"Mumbling is rude sir." Gloria teased as she entered my room. Smiling I took her hand in mine.

"Yes I know, I'm just aggravated. That message you gave me yesterday morning; it was about some old family business and ever since I've been in a poor mood. Forgive me." She laughed and patted my hand with her free one.

"Of course Thomas, you're such a sweet young man." She lightly pecked my cheek and began to fold the clean towels that laid across my bed. "So how long will you be gone this time?" She asked peeking over at me. I knew why she asked; she doesn't have much work to do when I am away and she feels as if she's being paid to do nothing, which is one thing Gloria does not like. She feels as if she must earn her keep. Sighing I zipped the last bag and began to help her fold.

"Honestly I'm not sure. I figured maybe a few weeks, a month tops, but it depends on the real amount of problems they are having. I'll keep you updated so don't worry you'll have plenty of notice to have to house clean before I get back." I winked playfully. She laughed and lightly slapped my arm.

"You silly young boy!" She picked the towels up and took them to the cabinets. I shook my head. If only you knew my real age. "I assume you're leaving today then?" She asked from the other room.

"Yes I'm headed out right now actually."

"Right now? It's barley six in the morning!" This made me laugh.

"Yes I know but my drive is nearly six hours long so if I leave now I'll get there around noon. I told them I'd be there around two; that gives me plenty of time to settle in and unpack before meeting up."

"I see, and what do you expect me to do while you're gone sir?"

"The usual. You may dust every few days, water the inside plants, and if that skinny stray cat comes looking for a meal you may feed him, other than that go home and enjoy this vacation time. You'll be paid you're usually pay and if that feline is healthy and fat when I get back I'll give you an added bonus." I winked once again. She laughed and pulled me into a hug.

"He'll be as healthy as a horse when you return, now go on, don't let me keep you any longer." She smiled and pulled away. "I hope your business goes well Thomas."

"Thank you Gloria. Tell your kids I said merry Christmas if I'm not back before then." She walked me out to the car and helped put some of the lighter bags in the trunk. "Take care while I'm gone." I said bidding her one more goodbye. Slowly I pulled out of the drive way and made my way to the gate. Entering a pin number on the keypad, the gate opened slowly. Looking back once more I sighed and headed out.

The drive wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but as I reached the pack borders I realized something I should have yesterday, Steven mentioned the name of his pack, the Black Stone pack, which happens to be a very strong and large pack. What didn't make sense was that the Black Stone pack's alpha's name is Don Stone yet Steven Maze said the alpha is his father. Question after question began to plague my mind.

Reaching the small motel I rented for the night I unloaded my stuff and threw the bags on the bed. I could unpack later right now was my time to run the borders of the territory and get a feel for it all. I'll check their patrols and see how quick they catch on to the trespasser whose been on their land for, I checked my watch, fifteen minutes now. Quickly I changed out of my constricting jeans and leather jacket and into some shorts and a t-shirt.
