"Two days?" I asked pacing back and forth. "I thought this would be difficult to find the inner circle members and their plans in two weeks, now I only have two days?" I ran my hands through my hair tugging at the ends in frustration.

"What are we going to do?" Stefan asked pacing behind me.

"Give me a second, let me think." How am I suppose to do this? It's not like I can sneak into Don's office without leaving my scen-"I got it!" I snapped turning around only to run into Stefan. Quickly he backed up.

"What's the plan boss?" He asked, dare I say with excitement.

"Tonight I believe Ryan and the other inner circle members are meeting with Don, I need you to find out where they are meeting and make sure they stay away from his office. Meanwhile I'm going to do some researching of my own."

"How am I suppose to find out where they're going? My dad doesn't trust me one bit with that information and Ryan isn't my biggest fan either."

"I haven't gotten that far with the plan!" I said slumping down onto the bed. "All I can say is trail them. If you can track me down surely you can track them. Be silent, be quick, but most important be smart. I don't need you spooking them into returning early."

"Got it, I'll do my best and-"

"Stefan!" Don barged in nearly ripping the door off it's hinges. Anger was clearly written all over his face. I stood up from the bed and quickly moved in front of the kid as Don stormed over. "Get out of my way boy!" He sneered as he tried to shove me to the side. I stood my ground and didn't budge.

"Dad." Stefan spoke while stepping out from behind me. "What's wrong?" Without warning Don backhanded Stefan causing him to stumble backwards.

"Don't you dare pretend you didn't ruin everything!" He yelled. Anger boiled beneath my skin and suddenly I was seeing red. Without thought I slammed my fist into Don's face. Cursing and blood poured from his mouth. "You're going to regret that boy!" He spat blood onto the white carpet.

"I warned you to never lay a hand on the kid again. Clearly Stefan has no idea what your talking about so instead of acting without thinking why don't you have a conversation first." I gritted out trying to control the hatred I held for the bleeding man standing in front of me. I watched as Don gained some composure and turned to Stefan.

"You can't tell me you didn't have anything to do with this?" Don asked holding up his phone. Stefan took the phone and began to read silently.

"Annie is coming back the day after tomorrow, she wants to take her rightful position as alpha." Slowly he lowered the phone, a terrified Stefan became lifeless. "She challenges you for the position."

"I've already told that stubborn sister of yours that if she challenges me I will not go easy and if she doesn't submit-"

"You'll kill her." Stefan finished. "Dad you can't accept her challenge! If you must, fight Landon! It's not uncommon for the mate to fight in their place!" Stefan became frantic. Don laughed bitterly.

"Did you not hear of the events that happened not even ten minutes after my disciplinary chat with Landon and Ryan?" Don's busted lip had healed and the blood was now drying. Stefan shook his head. "When Landon left my office he found a second mate. A neighboring pack sent over their beta's daughter to deliver some paperwork on the treaty we've been working on and like magic, they were destined to be." He smiled as if he had just won an argument and something in my gut dropped. Our back up plan with Landon was now no longer an option.
