Chapter 5

“I hate this!”

“Don’t be so dramatic, it’s only been fifteen minutes!’

“Woman, please!”

Austin angrily slammed his hands on the piano and randomly hit different notes. He turned to Ally who just simply rolled her eyes. They had spent only a few minutes sitting on the piano bench trying to come up with lyrics for their song, but so far they weren’t having any luck.

He heard her sight. “We just need to have a topic in mind,” she grabbed Austin’s notebook and cleared a page. “How about… friendship?”

“How about no,” Austin stood up from the bench and began pacing back and forth with his head hung back.

“Listen,” began Ally, slightly annoyed. “The song isn’t due until next week anyway, so just think about it and then get back to me”

She stood up and grabbed her bag but Austin suddenly grabbed her arm. “No, don’t go yet” he softly blurted out, stardleing himself. Ally let out a low gasp while Austin just looked to his sides. He looked down embarrassed closely resembling a small child before looking back up at her.

“You wanna go catch something to eat?’’

He could see how Ally practically choked on his words. “Um… what?”

Austin chuckled. “You know, I’m not that bad of a guy”

The seventeen year old looked at him sternly for a bit before finally responding. “When you’re not with your friends”

He slightly rolled his eyes. “Right, anyway do you want to go or not?”

Ally looked down. ‘’I didn’t bring any money,”

“It’s okay, I’ll pay”

“I don’t want to cause any trouble, Austin”

Austin walked closer to Ally with a smile. He could feel her body tense up. “Hey, I insist! And if it makes you more comfortable, we’ll go somewhere far from where nobody can make fun of you”

Ally thought before looking over at Issac, who happily tackled football players with the game control. “What about Issac?”

Austin smirked. “Ask him if he wants to come,”

He watched as she walked over to him and took off his headphones.

“Please don’t tell me we’re leaving yet” pleaded Issac, causing Ally to laugh. Austin lighted up at the sight of Ally’s sweet face.

“Don’t worry, Issac, Austin just wanted to know if you wanted to come eat something with us”

The thirteen year old glanced over at Austin. “Do I have to?”

Austin smiled and walked over next to Ally. “Nah, knock yourself out with whatever games you want too. There are some more on that drawer if you wanna play with them” he turned to Ally. “Come on, let’s go”

She nodded her head and kneeled down to Issac. “Behave, kiddo!” she said with a smile before pulling him into a hug. Austin felt his face turn into a small smile seeing how well she got along with her younger brother; Tilly had one around Issac’s age but she treated him like trash. Just another reason he secretly didn’t like her.

“So where exactly are we going?” asked Ally as they both exited the house.

Austin gave her his famous smirk. “You’ll see”

Austin smiled as he read the sign Cassi’s hung on the door and entered the small building. It was the one place he went to when he wasn’t in the best mood and wanted to escape from the rest of the world. He wasn’t sure why he had brought Ally to this destination; all he knew was that he wanted to share the restaurant with her.
