[16]: Forgetting Robert

"SO BASICALLY, YOU'RE TELLING me that you like two boys at the same time?" He asked.

I nodded sadly.

"Well, don't worry Thea. You'll somehow pick a guy. Just you wait." He said.

"Well someone sounds smart." I teased.

"Of course. Someone flicked the 'smart-ass-Daniel' switch on." He replied with a playful smirk.

"Whatever."

"Hey, you know what, I'm hungry."

"Then go eat." I said. "There's a lot of food chains outside the park."

"I can't believe that you're actually shooing me away." He stated.

"I wasn't shooing you!" I exclaimed.

"Oh really?" He asked, his eyes playfully narrowing at me.

"Yes really."

"Yeah, sure." He said almost sarcastically. "Wanna go eat with me?" He invited.

I checked the time--12:15 noon.

"Sure, why not?" I replied hastily, getting up.

"I think that came out like it was forced." Daniel noted.

"It wasn't." I cleared.

"Yes it was!" He argued.

"Oh come on Daniel!"

He gave off a teasing laugh. "You get mad easily."

"So?"

"You're cuter when you're angry."

"Just shut up." I said, rolling my eyes and started walking off.

"Oh Thea, will you ever learn to wait for me?" He muttered dramatically.

"Can't you just keep up?" I asked, laughing.

"You're walking too fast!" He whined, him walking behind me.

"Is this the right time for me to say 'loser'?" I teased.

He scrunched up his face making him cuter.

"No, if you say that now then you're just talking about yourself," he replied. "Last one who reaches the park gates is a monkey!" Then, he broke into a run, leaving me behind him.

Ha, monkey yourself.

"I've been waiting for you for like, a century! Did you realize that I was hungry?" He asked but he didn't wait for me to answer. "But look on the bright side, you, milady, is a monkey."

"Wow, way to make me feel better." I muttered. "And, I didn't participate." I pointed out.

"Killjoy. But anyways, I accept your alibi." He said, putting an arm around my shoulders.

"Let's go eat." He said, steering me with him on crossing the road.

"So, shall we settle on McDonald's?" He asked, once we were on the other side of the road.

"Sounds good." I replied.

As soon as we arrived there, we immediately picked a booth beside the glass wall.

"What do you want me to get you?" He asked.

"Nuggets and a cheeseburger with fries." I said with a big smile and then fished out some money from my pocket.

"No, no. I'm paying." He said as soon as I handed him my money.

"Oh, come on. Take it." I urged.

"No." He said in a stern voice. "Anything else?" He asked, in his usual playful voice.

"Coke," I replied with the smile I had a while ago.

As soon as he left, my phone buzzed.

I brought it out and checked the screen.

BFFGracexX:
Where r u???

In reply, I typed,

Me:
Secret. I'm with Daniel.

Almost immediately, she replied.

BFFGracexX:
OMG?! As in, the hotguy-u-met-in-the-mall Daniel?

Me:
yeah : >

BFFGracexX:
HOOOOMEEEGERD!!

I laughed at her reply.

BFFGracexX:
Well, don't wanna ruin the moment you're having so... text ya later ; )

"I'll see you after your seminary asap okay?"

"Okay," I promised through the phone.

"That's my girl," Daniel said. "Okay, see you soon," And he ended his call.

I sighed. Apparently, Daniel and I was really having a good time when he got a call from his mom and he had to go back to his house. And because I know it wasn't any of my business, I didn't even bother ask why.

I really like the way Daniel made me laugh, made me smile and made me frown. Talking to him completed my agenda which was forgetting Robert for even once. Daniel coming was unexpected yet he was all I needed to forget the beautiful pain in my soul.

Glancing on my phone and checking for the time, I saw that it was already 3:15.

Well, maybe I should go back to Seth's house.
