[17]: Can't Believe This
"AND WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" Was the first thing that I heard upon entering the Deavon's house.
Knowing that it was Seth who spoke, I shrugged and said, "Just in the park.".
Seth was sprawled on the couch, a white PSP on hand and the TV showing a football game.
Typical guy.
I trudged up the stairs and headed to the room I was staying.
Once I reached my room, I closed the door, kicked off my shoes and made a beeline for my bed.
Tomorrow will be the start of the LTS and I haven't seen my BFFs to say goodbye yet.
So, I reached for my phone and texted Ethan, Grace and Jasmine a group message.
Come here at Seth's house. PRONTO.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on my bedroom door.
I walked my way towards it, hoping it was Grace and my other two bestfriends.
I twisted the doorknob and pulled the door open.
Sure enough, they were there.
But they were behind Seth.
"We'll talk later." He whispered, glaring at me.
What was wrong with him?
He turned and left, leaving me and my bestfriends.
"How are you? We were so worried!" Ethan said, taking my shoulders.
"I'm okay, Ethan." I assured. "Why don't we get inside my room?"
They stepped in and settled on the carpeted floor.
"So, why did you leave, Thea? I kept on asking Grace and Ethan but they won't tell me." Jasmine whined.
I shot Grace a look which was saying 'now what?'.
She shrugged her shoulders.
Wow, how I love you dear bestfriend.
"Well, you see, Jasmine..." I racked my brain for some excusable alibi. "I had to get home early."
"Huh? Why?" She asked.
I looked at Grace again and she was looking at me as if saying 'go on'.
"Well..." I trailed off helplessly. "Uhh, I had to go home early because... I had to pack up for the seminar?" I finally said, making it sound like a question.
"Ohhhhh," Jasmine said, buying it.
"Yes," I said, faking a smile. "That's it."
"But why didn't you look at us when we tried to call you back at the church?" She asked again.
Uh-oh. What am I going to say now?
"Um... er... there was... well... emergency." I lied through my teeth.
"Emergency? Why?"
"Well, Seth needed me and I didn't want him to keep waiting..." I lied again.
I am oh so going to hell for this.
"Well, you don't really want to get a bad boy waiting," she grinned.
"Okay, so, why did you call us here?" Ethan asked, changing the topic.
"Well, dear friends," I started.
"Um, correction, bestfriends," Grace said.
"Okay, okay. Let me try that again." I said. "Well, dear bestfriends," I said, looking at Grace as I mention the word 'bestfriend' and I saw her nod in satisfaction. "I am departing and I cannot stand not saying goodbye to the three of you." I continued, sounding in a dramatic way.
