"You're brother's coming home after his meeting with the investors." Dad simply says, taking a seat. I raise my eyebrows and purse my lips. "Look, if you want something, you should strive for it Kinsley. Not just sit a round and ask what you're going to do."

I breath out and grin. "You think I hadn't done anything to actually make you proud? You didn't see it because you were too busy looking at Keith and his success. I live for my own and I'm not asking for your praise but if you treat me like this, I think I shouldn't be living under your damn roof and be working for this company. Have fun with your whores." I turn my heel and leave his office.

Could this day get any worse?

I simply smile at his assistant and leave the building quickly.

Holy shit, I finally did it. I finally went against my dad. I quickly call Mere and she answers.

"Hey, you said something about Cleo's party?" I say with confidence and she shrieks. "Oh my god! I can't believe you're actually going! Did you finally show your dick of a dad who you are?"

"Well, I guess I did." I laugh. "If only I was there with you, I could hug you right now! Hold on, I'm shopping for a dress tonight. I'll meet you after." I answer a 'yes' and she ends the call leaving me to thinking on what should I do now.

I was beyond happy that I was finally free from my dad and this wretched company. It kept me from doing the things I wanted. My life was a living nightmare and I'm glad I've finally fixed it.

The first thought that came into my mind was to just relax at my apartment and take a bubble bath which I hadn't done for a long time since I only had to take showers to rush to work immediately.

I walked to my car, walking freely until I saw a briefcase on top of the hood of my car. I walked slowly, looking for anyone nearby that could probably be looking for it but there was no sign of any guy. I shrugged and looked at it if it had any label and to my surprise, there was.

'ABD Inc. Anthony Sanders, (378) 786-1234'

ABD Inc? It sounded familiar. I then examine the briefcase and it seemed to have a lock. The briefcase was quite heavy and I had a feeling these were important documents so I called the number. After a few rings it answered and a woman's voice spoke out,

"ABD Incorporated. How may I help you?"

"Someone from your company left a briefcase. His name is -". I look at the calling card and say,

"Anthony Sanders?"

I wait for the answer for 5 seconds and I could hear people scrambling and mumbling at the background.

"Let me get back to you in a minute." She says and puts on some music as I wait. While waiting, I get inside my car and put the briefcase at the passengers seat.

"Thank you for waiting! I'm sorry but could you meet up with one of our employees so that we could get the briefcase?" She asks nicely and I answer, "I think I could bring it to your company. There's an address here. Thank you." I end the call before she could say anything and look at the briefcase.

What the hell was inside this briefcase and why the hell would they want to meet me personally just to get this?

I drove to the building  quickly and  as soon as I arrived, there were a lot of people waiting at the entrance. I parked along the street and watched all the staff wait for who was coming. After a few minutes, a car arrives and someone gets off the drivers seat.

He bangs the door, looking irritated and walks fast to the entrance.

They all make space for him to pass as he walks past them, entering the building.

Geez, he needed that much attention to just enter the building? Goddamn CEO's and their fucking egos. All the employees enter in a orderly manner, following the guy.

I get out off my car and I walk slowly to the entrance with the briefcase at my hand while my eyes scan the inside to look for the receptionist I was talking to a while ago. I see a woman standing there, fixing all sorts of things at her desk while the other employees help her.

I go inside and stride to the desk easily and I clear my throat as soon as I reach the desk. She stops what she's doing and looks up slowly then down until she widens her eyes.

"You're that woman who called earlier!" She points at me and I widen my eyes. I nod slowly as she jumps, hugging her fellow employee.

"I thought you had stolen it." She sighs and puts her hand at her chest. "What do you take me for?" I raise my eyebrows and she stops cheering.

She rambles trying to compose herself and she breaths out, "That didn't come out right, well uh-" she looks to her side and widens her eyes as she gulps loudly. The other employees do the same and they face to their right.

"Why the hell do you have my lawyer's briefcase?" A mans voice speaks and I look to his direction. To my surprise, it's the guy awhile ago that everyone was greeting. He was tall and he had sunglasses on. He looked quite attractive too.

Damn it, focus.

"I found it on top of my car." I reply and put the briefcase on top of the desk as I grin and turn my body to exit the building.

geez, the tension inside that building.
