"You'll be going to Portland?" Mere asks. I nod, shoving my clothes inside my luggage. "For how long?" Weston enters the room with wine on his hand. "I don't know. It will probably take a week or two just to finalize the papers." I sit on top of the bed while Mere pouts.
"I can't believe you're opening another branch at Portland." Weston says, leaning himself to the door frame. "I can't believe it too. It just happened. Some guy who entered the bakery was excited to say that some company is willing to help me find a building at Portland."
Mere smiles, checking her phone. "So! Someone's not telling us about what happened with the family lunch yesterday!" I exclaim, looking at Mere for any reactions.
Weston clears his throat trying to get the attention of Mere but she just smiles and giggles. "Uhm earth to Mere?" I wave my hands in front of her as she looks at the both us, shocked.
"What?" She says dumbfounded. "What happened yesterday? Was the guy cute?" I lean in, as I lay down on my front body. Mere giggles, holding her phone as she nods fast. "And he's a model, for gods sake and the moment we saw each other, everything just stopped moving."
"Oh god, you're making me puke." I was disgusted about they described those kinds of stories. Or maybe it was just me who was just being a bitter fuck.
"Stop being so affected. You'll have one, soon." Weston makes his way to us, seating beside me.
"So when's the next date?" I ask. "Tomorrow." She squeals, jumping around like a child. I roll my eyes while Weston slaps me slightly at my arm.
"Ah. Young love is in the air. I hope you two get along well." Weston stands up, making his way out of the room while I continue to tend in packing all my shit up. "Can you just help me pack for the damn trip." I call at Mere as she goes to me immediately, helping me fold my clothes.
"So how was it with that Peter guy." She asks me with her eyebrows raised.
"Nothing much. We don't talk that much anymore." I answer and she just shrugs.
"Just tell me if he hurts you and I'll be there." Mere sounded dead serious and I nod slowly.

"Bye, I'll miss you!!" Both Mere and Weston hugs me. "I'll miss you too. I'll see you in a week." I beam at them as they nod. I make my way inside the airport and look back to see them waving at me. I smile sadly from the thought that I won't be able to see the both of them.
To Portland it is then.
While I was on the plane, I had many thoughts about Peter. He was unusually someone I'd talk to for the rest of my life but I never liked him. The thought of getting close to him was actually nice.
Upon arriving in Portland, someone had arranged that I be brought to the hotel paid by the company that owns the building. I didn't bother to refuse but a peak of curiosity ignited me. Why the hell were they willing to pay for my stay at Portland when I was buying their building.
I was escorted by some guard too when we arrived at the hotel which was kind of over the top. "Enjoy your stay, Ms. Greene." The guard gives me a toothy grin and I smile shyly.
I was supposed to have a meeting with both the CEO and the guy who had introduced me tonight which gave me time to look for a dress I could probably wear. Shopping then.
As I strolled along the mall, I managed to get a full outfit in no time. Geez, if only it was like this back at Florida and to my surprise, I see my brother eating alone with his hands shoved in his coat. I walk slowly to him and he looks up to me with a fry, stuck at his mouth.
I laugh slightly and his face lights up as he stands up, hugging me. "King!!! I've missed you!"
"I've missed you too, Keith." I smile back, taking a seat across him. "How's the company?" He suddenly asks. Well what a way to bond with your sister. "Everything is good but I might have left it." I was reluctant to say it but he smiles anyways, cheering me up.
"At least you had the balls to do it. Dad hasn't been an idol or even a fatherly figure to the both of us." He explains and I nod, agreeing with him. "You must have been overworked there?" He asks. "Yes, I hadn't had that much sleep but ever since I quit, I guess I got to experience a lot of things." I reply.
"So what's got you at Portland?" He takes a bite from his burger. "I'm opening up a branch here. I guess continuing the business was a good idea after all." I answer.
"Great job! God, I can't believe you're here. You didn't even bother to tell me." He pouts and I pat his hand, "I thought you were busy because you know how Dad is." Keith just waves his hands and says, "Nonsense, I'd drop anything just to see you."
My phone then starts to vibrate with an unknown caller id. I frown and answer it,
"Hello?"
"Uhm hey?" A familiar voice speaks. I widen my eyes and I realize who it is.
"Peter? How'd you get my number?" I asked him.
After a few seconds, he answered, "So it really is you, huh. You own the bakery?" He asks.
I purse my lips and then I realize it, it's his company that sold me the building.
"Yes, I do. God, I never thought it would be you who owned the company." I say. He chuckles and answers, "I never thought you were the owner of the bakery until my assistant told me who you were before I arrived at Portland. I'll see you then tonight, Angel." He then hangs up and I slowly put my head on the table, cursing myself.
Out of all the people, it had to be Peter motherfucking Dunn.
The guy I judged as a cocky bastard who needed the whole company to fucking bow to his feet when he arrived at his own company.
I mentally face palmed myself as I started to fit the puzzles perfectly. "Are you okay?" Keith speaks out of nowhere and I sit up, facing him. "Apparently the owner of the building is someone I don't want to see as of now. What are the odds?" I sarcastically say while he raises his eyebrow.
"Who's the guy?"
"Peter Dunn. Does it ring a bell?" I say and he thinks for awhile, looking at the ceiling. "Does the word 'dickhead' describe him?" He asks and I nod rapidly.
"ABD Inc.? Geez, they have great skills but their CEO is just an ass. Done business with him but never again." John snaps and I clasp my hands together.
"I never knew he would be the type to invest for small bakeries." Keith suddenly says and I frown. He puts his hands up in surrender and I scoff. "Believe it or not, a lot always come daily." I proudly say and he raises his eyebrows, impressed.
"I mean, I could go with you, if you want to." Keith suggests and I smirk.
"Perfect."
