Satsuki looked at her twin Katana's, leaning against the head of her bed. Its handle shimmering under the moonlight  seeping through the window.

She decided that she had to accept that she might never be able to return home.

And this was her life now, in Konoha.

And that she needed a job.

Sarutobi sat on his chair, reading reports and files for hours. He had sent orders to one of his people from the Archieves to get all the information about the Matsumoto Clan. He had heard of this clan before, when he was but a Genin, under the rule of the First Hokage. Their Bloodline lost forever after the First Ninja War--yet Satsuki was there, in the Leaf Village, claiming she was from another World or Realm.

Speaking of Satsuki,  the latest news he had received from the ANBU keeping an eye on her, was that the young woman had gotten herself a job, just two days after being discharged from the Hospital.

Selling weapons in the Local Weapon Shop was not Satsuki's idea of a real job, but it had to do. She needed the money, knowing she can't rely on the Hokage's kindness...or anyone's kindness for that matter. Like before, she was on her own.
She had memorized the merchandise, the stocks, the tools sold in the store. She had even studied everything in regards to the tools and weaponries...and oddly enough she was good at it.

The owner Mr. Kobayashi noticed how his sales peaked in a span of 2 weeks of her working there. She had been exemplary at her job, putting on signs and giving out pamphlets, and most of all her knowledge on each weapon was beyond his; something he found rather impressive considering she had migrated to Konoha just days before.

"Any news?" Sarutobi asked the ANBU assigned to Satsuki 2weeks later. "she has taken a second job, this time at the Hospital." The masked ANBU answered, earning a curious look from the Hokage. "Such persistence." He commented  dismissing the ANBU.

4weeks in Konoha, all had been well. Thankfully she was adapting quite well, oddly, she was enjoying the village more than she expected she would. She walked in turtle pace towards the Weapon Shop, at 6:30AM, opening early was one of the reasons their sales had peaked---compared to the other establishments opening at 10AM.

A yawn escaped her lips, tired from her duty at the hospital the night before as a Medical Assistant. She did well with her knowledge in medicine, however she learned that the way they did medicine was different from the 'real' world. But what was really real? she pondered absentmindedly.

A force made contact with her all of a sudden, and she fell on her butt. An alarming shade of orange and a set of spiky blonde hair mirrored her surprised expression.

From what she could tell the kid was around 7, and he was running. "Are you okay?" She was about to ask him but a man in apron came grabbing the kid by his arm harshly, pointing a finger at him. "You little demon child!" The older man spat, clear disgust was on his face, while the man handled the child like one would a wild animal. Satsuki scowled, and she snapped when he gripped the kid's arm harshly enough that the boy yelped in pain.

"Ahh! let me go!" The man yelped in pain, releasing the boy in his grasp as Satsuki forced one of his meaty arms behind his back, kicking his leg that he fell to his knees on the pavement in pain, while she held him in place with just a hand.

"Hurts doesn't it? I suggest you don't let me see you abusing another child again---cause the next time I do, I'll break both your arms. Do you understand?" Satsuki whispered to his ear menacingly, and he nodded wincing in pain. She let him go with a shove. Satsuki turned now taking note that they were now surrounded by spectators. They were sending her looks of disapproval but she simply shrugged them all off. She turned to the kid, and gently took his hand and pulled him with her as she walked away.

"Whats your name?" Satsuki asked gently, ushering her to an empty bench. "Naruto." He said almost in whisper, sniffing. "I'm Satsuki, but you can call me Suki." She said, taking his arm and inspecting the forming bruise on her young skin. She frowned, he had other bruises--in different healing degrees, clear sign that this event had happened before. "Who did this?" She asked concerned, "Other kids." He said, wiping his own eyes.

"What does your parent say?" She questioned immediately. "I don't have any." He replied sadly. She scowled, "so who takes care of you?" She asked. "No one. My landlord checks on me once in a while, but that's just because the Hokage ordered him to." Naruto explained thoughtful.

Satsuki sighed. "I see. I take care of myself to." She confessed. "You don't have parents too?"

"They died, when I was very young." She said almost in whisper, taking a small ointment in her bag, and handing it to him.

"Well, You know what Naruto. I have to go to work, but later---why don't you come join me for dinner. How does that sound?" She asked, standing up and walking side by side towards the Weapon shop.  Honestly, she needed a friend herself. And people like them who didn't belong to any group should stick together.

Naruto grinned excitedly, "We can eat at Ichiraku's!"

"Ichiraku's it is! I'll see you there." She said, fondly ruffling his hair.

Her day went smoothly as expected, customers came in and out--some hand-measurements were taken for customized weaponries like kunain and swords. After finishing her inventory she handed it to her boss, and finished her shift at 3PM. She came to her 4hour shift at the Hospital and left to Ichiraku's around 7:30, where her new friend was waiting patiently.

"Naruto." She called, recognizing his back while he sat. A wide smile spread on his lips, when he turned and saw Satsuki's face, relieved that he wasn't stood up. She took a sit next to him and the two ordered, it was a mistake Satsuki realized after when she told him she'll be paying. He ate 13bowls of ramen while she had 3. Boy, he could eat--Satsuki thought.

A laugh escaped her lips, one genuinely amused at the kid. "Boy, I might need a third job Naruto." She said, ruffling his hair fondly as they walked home.
