Today is a new day, nothing really exciting ever happens here. Everything is always the same. Eat, sleep, school, repeat. I get ready for the day, not wearing anything extra special. It's the first day of school, surprise, surprise, just like every other story starts out, but whatever.
It's the start of my sophomore year in college, meaning I am 19, not yet twenty. Walking in I see all of the friend groups and the friends and couples, you know, typical school stuff. But for now, let's skip to the good part. As I walk to the lunchroom to get myself some coffee because let's face it, it's early and I'm falling asleep.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm neither a badass nor a perfect girl. I can be goofy, weird, funny, nice, mean, girly, or looking like a trash can, depends what I'm feeling, blah blah blah. Enough talking about myself, now the story.
Wait hold on let me give you some background information about me, Melody Laura, cool name I know (she said sarcastically). I am a 19 year old girl who really wants a good career and life. My grades are the most important thing to me school-wise. My family is the most important thing overall. I'm not a nerd tho. I don't love reading or math or anything like that but I do my best to be the best I can. Blah blah blah, you're probably getting bored, but just bare with me. I consider myself pretty tall for a girl, I mean, most girls have that super hot body and are super adorable and short, and that's not me. I'm about 5'8, and I'm not necessarily curvy or super sexy, but like it's okay. I was born in the Caribbean, meaning I speak Spanish more than I do English. Now, on with the story, I won't be making any other comments apart from this one from now on.
So as I get my coffee I see this really handsome guy whom I've never seen before. I'm walking away, having payed and all, and since I was not paying attention to where I was going since I was on my phone, like every other teen, I bump into someone. I didn't really get to see much of what had happened before he spoke, I spilled my coffee all over his clothes, along with mine, good thing it wasn't too hot because that could have really hurt.
"O my gosh, I'm so sorry, I didn't see where I was going" I say nervously. Coincidentally, it's that guy I was talking about earlier. I run to the nearest table and grab as many napkins as humanly possible and run back to him, forgetting about the huge coffee stain on my white shirt, great day to wear white, I know.
"It's alright, don't worry about it" he answers, and I look up from what I was doing, which was attempting to clean up the mess I made on his shirt. He seems casual about it, and just laughs it off, not like one of those cocky, stuck-up guys who believe they're better than everyone. Snapping me out of my thoughts he says, "I think you should go change into something else, something a bit less, uh, see through" he says, smirking and looking at my chest, and I know exactly what he means and I turn more red than a tomato. I slowly glance down at my chest and see that, since my shirt is white and now it's wet, my bra is the most visible thing in the world.
"I, uh, I gotta go" I say politely and giving him an awkward smile and I literally run away thinking "seriously Melody, white, why today?"
If there is one up side to coming to this school is that it's colder than a freezer, so I always carry around an extra shirt and sweater. I quickly change and run into my first class.
Glad that's over.
Oh wait, it's not. I claimed victory too early, poop. I have everything positioned on my desk and I'm ready to start the day, and just like that, two seconds before the bell rings, he walks in. Great, awesome, amazing perfect, spectacular. Crap.
