"Dad, can you like walk me to my room?" Lauren asks her dad. They were parked on the school parking lot with the car on park. Fifteen minutes already passed since they arrived. Lauren wouldn't move her ass from the car seat. Being the introvert she is, she tries to stall as much as possible to lessen her time to mingle with people she doesn't know.

Her father, Mike, gave her an intense glare "Lauren, no. You're already old enough to walk to your room all by yourself." He said sternly, not wanting to give in on her intentions.

"Ugh.. Fine." She finally succumbs and lets out an annoyed sigh. She grabbed her backpack and kissed her father goodbye.

Venturing towards the gate, she asked the guard where to look for the students' room numbers. He gives simple instructions and she nodded in understanding. Heading towards the crowd of students, she grew nervous and anxious. She didn't really like to be around a massive number of people. It made her feel like she's suffocating. Looking back at the slowly lessening crowd of students, she tries to build up the courage to walk up to the bulletin board. Slowly approaching it, she stepped on someone's foot. The person yelped in pain and frantically looked around to look for the person who tried to murder her foot. Turning around, she was met with a pair of wide green eyes. Her rage quickly disappeared looking at the frightened girl in front of her. She grabs the girl's wrist and guides her away from the crowd which began to get bigger.

"I-I'm so sorry. I d-didn't mean t-to—"

"Chill girl, I ain't gonna bite."

Lauren still felt guilty stepping on someone's foot on the first day. Gosh, she was so stupid. If this goes on, she's gonna be a loser again and—

"Hi my name's Dinah but you can call me Dmac," she extends her hand out for Lauren to shake in which the girl shyly accepted.

"I'm Lauren," she replies with a small but genuine smile on her face.

"Lauren, as in, Lauren Jauregui?" Dinah asks in shock. "Umm, yeah?"

"Oh my god, were in the same section!" Dinah squealed in excitement.

Lauren was shocked as to why Dinah would be excited about that. But she's happy because at least she knows one person in the class. She was pulled out of her thoughts when she was again tugged by the other girl who had a wide smile plastered on her face. "Come on Laur, we're gonna be late," and as if on cue the first bell goes off, giving the students a ten minute heads up before classes start.

After a few minutes of being tugged around, Dinah came to a stop which made Lauren collide on the other girl's back. "We're here!" Dinah pipes up.

She scanned the room to see students animatedly talking to their friends. Dinah, on the other hand, tugs her to the back where she finds two girls laughing. Lauren had her head hanging when they stopped in front of the two.

"Hey guys!" Dinah went over and hugged the girls who soon stood up with excitement.

"Oh my god Dinah! It's been so long—"

"Mani, it's only been a week since I last saw you."

"Okay I'll cut the crap," the dark-skinned girl rolls her eyes and suddenly stops and lands on the pair of green eyes looking intently at her. "Oh hey. Didn't see ya there,"

"Nah its okay," Lauren replies rubbing her nape with her right hand in an effort to low-key hang her head down. "I-I'm Lauren," she extends her hand out for the dark-skinned girl to shake. She almost fell on her bottom when she suddenly feels a strong force tackle her. Looking up, she realizes that she was being hugged. "I'm Normani," A smile made its way to her lips as she slowly got comfortable with the hug, hugging back. They soon separated and Lauren faced the girl beside her. She was met with a pair of warm brown eyes.

"Hey there. I'm Camila," the girl wraps her in a hug which she reciprocated happily.

Before their conversation got further, their advisor Ms. Geronimo, walked into the room. She cleared her throat and the whole class scrambled to their chairs. Lauren was instantly pulled down by Camila and instructed to sit beside her while Dinah took a seat next to Normani. She was happy she already made friends on the first day of school. A new record.

Since it was the first day of school, they were only having a half day class. As the class was dismissed, she took in the scene in front of her. Students scrambled to get out the door hurriedly while talking and laughing with their friends. The girls beside her soon stood up, she herself doing the same.

"Hey Laur, we have one more person for you to meet," Dinah said as she put on her bag.

"That'd be cool," she replied trying to keep her cool.

"Ally just texted me. She's waiting right now, at our spot," Normani informed the squad then locked her phone and putting it in her pocket shortly after.

"She said it's her treat," the dark-skinned girl announced shortly afterwards when we were on the hallway. Camila instantly went from zero to a hundred at the mention of the word 'treat'. She grabbed the green-eyed girl's hand beside her and tugged on it, running at a reasonably faster pace and whooping past Normani and Dinah.

"Come on guys! Hurry your asses!"

The two girls giggled and soon sped up their pace.

"Ally's our sunshine Laur," Dinah supplied.

Lauren was genuinely happy with the girls around her. They spent the whole afternoon talking and getting to know each other. Lauren felt a buzz on her right jean pocket. It was her phone. Growing worried, she instantly pulled put her phone to see six unread messages and five missed calls from her dad. Oh god.

She abruptly stood up with worry and horror in her eyes.

"Sorry guys but I have to go. See you tomorrow!"

And with that, she dashes out of the store and towards the school parking lot where she saw a very pissed off Mike leaning frustratedly against the car.
