Chapter 12: Do You Even Realize You're Too Late?

A month passed since Lauren, Dalton, and Charles had their hangout at Zhaina's. It's been a month since Camila realized she's been pretty stupid.

Throughout the month, Camila couldn't even go near the green eyed girl because Zhaina was literally all over her. Everywhere Lauren would go, Zhaina would always tag along. Camila's confidence deterred every single day. Her peers didn't like Zhaina at all. They though she was a little too attached and overreactive. Their eyes would roll on cue whenever Zhaina would whine if Lauren would try to be tough with her. The green eyed girl would eventually give up and console with the small girl's request. Lauren seemed.. happy, though. They've never seen Lauren this happy. Not since Camila turned her down.

Camila grew hesitant everyday. Should I tell her now? She's happy though. I don't wanna ruin her happiness. But if not now, when?

These questions plagued her mind whenever she would stare at the green eyed girl. It's been a month. It's been four weeks. It's been 30 days, that these thoughts ate her alive. She didn't want to wait though. This will just prolong the process.

Since Zhaina won't leave Lauren's side, Camila and her peers thought of an idea.

"It will work, Walz. Trust me." Dinah hugged the petite girl when she saw the hesitant look on her face. She melted into the hug and murmured something on the Polynesian girl's shoulder."Thanks Cheechee." The gals, and guys, then moved to execute their plan.

Normally, Zhaina would drive Lauren home. I know, over attached right? Camila rolled her eyes at the fact. Ugh, she really hates the girl. But back to topic. Now with their perfectly devised plan, Zhaina would be forced to separate from Lauren, for reasons that'll be explained later.

It was already dismissal time. Students were piling out of the room and into the hallway. They waited until it was only Camila's group and Lauren and Zhaina that were left in the room. Dinah eyed everyone in the circle and nodded, signaling that their plan would soon be acted on. And by soon she means right now. Dinah was the first to stand up, soon followed by everyone except Camila. Dinah pulled out her phone and her ringtone 'rang'. She put on a fake shock face and hurried over to Zhaina. She harshly gripped the girl's shoulder just as she was about to kiss Lauren on the cheek.

"Oh my god! Zhaina, my sister texted me and said your dog ran out of the house and was hit by a car!"

Zhaina, being the petty girl she is, instantly bought the news. "Oh my god! Fuck fuck fuck!" She cursed loudly, "Sorry babe, we have to cancel our date tonight. My little Alia needs me," she said in a worried tone. "We'll just reschedule, okay babe?" Dinah rolled her eyes at the nickname. Eww. Good thing she didn't get caught. "No it's fine," Lauren gave her a comforting smile. "You're the best babe! Love you, bye!" She gave Lauren a peck on the lips. "Come on, the dog's not gonna help itself!" Dinah snapped and dragged Zhaina out of the room, soon followed by the rest of the group. Camila was awkwardly sitting at the back, Lauren doesn't even seem to know she's there.

Lauren stood up from her seat but stood frozen when she heard someone clear their throat, she turned around and was surprised to see Camila standing there. "Oh, hi. I thought you went with them so I—"

"Lauren, we need to talk." Camila said sternly. Lauren scoffed once she heard what Camila said. "Oh now you want to talk," she rolls her eyes and raises her hands up in defeat. "Okay, okay. I wanna hear what you have to say after all that has happened." Lauren sat back down on her chair. She turned the chair in front of her in a complete 180 degrees so that it's facing her. She just stared at Camila, and the smaller girl shyly made her way in front of Lauren and sat down. Camila opened and shut her mouth multiple times within five minutes. Lauren groaned and harshly stood up, deciding that the small girl didn't really have anything to say. She was about to take a step when Camila's small voice piped up.
