I stared out of the window. Maybe it's not too late to turn around? I'll be fine right? There's nice people in Texas right? Okay, Melinda calm down. You'll be fine.

Right?

I growled under my breath and rolled my eyes. I was being stubborn and nervous for no reason. I shouldn't be nervous. I had been to Texas before, to visit other people and I certainly had a couple of friends down there. They were more than happy to find out I was moving closer.

In fact, one of them asked me to join her for a night out with her and her other friends, none of which I have met. She said just to wear something sexy, because she wanted me to meet someone.

Yes, I had a blind date with friends.

Devon pulled into the driveway and turned off the car. "You didn't tell me the house was this big! We could throw a party in there!" He said excitingly.

I laughed. What a dork he was. "Come on, we gotten unpack the car at least."

"Why are you in such a hurry?" He asked.

"I have plans tonight Devon. I don't have time to waste. I gotta get ready soon!" I snapped.

Devon gave me a smirk. "You're going partying aren't you?" He asked.

Well, I guess he was kinda right. I was planning on going to a club and drink away the day while dancing with attractive strangers. "Shut up."

Devon chuckled to himself and climbed out of the car. Sometimes he pisses me off for no reason.

After what felt like forever, we finally finished unpacking. I had thought it would've taken a lot longer, but surprisingly, it took about an hour. Lucky me I guess.

I pulled my hair out of the bun and it fell to my shoulders. I had a lot of hair and I have always wanted to cut it short, but then I think about what I would look like then I'm like, "Eh, rather not."

(Haha pitch perfect)

With my makeup done and my hair styled, I walk out of the bathroom and into my bedroom. And of course Devon has already picked out my outfit. What isn't surprising, is the fact that it's the tight black dress I had tryed on the other day. Along with tall black stripers heels. Haha where's my Maserati?

(Pow an Adam Lambert joke! I am on fire!)

I zipped up my boots and looked myself in the mirror. Sexy? Sure. Slutty? Definitely. My makeup wasn't slutty at least.

Devon knocked on my door. "Sarah's here to pick you up."

"Okay." I said. I stocked down the stairs and swiftly opened the door. Sarah stood on the porch, wearing a knee length blue party dress and thick eye makeup. She looked beautiful, not at all slutty like me.

She looked me up and down and nodded. "Yep, that's sexy."

I rolled my eyes and followed her to her car. "Caleb said he'll meet us at the bar." Sarah told me as we buckled our seat belts.

So his name was Caleb? Cute. Kinda sounds like a country boy's name I guess.

"Don't worry, he'll love you. Especially in that dress." She said.

"Was that a way of telling me I look revealing?" I asked, suddenly feeling self-conscious about my look.

"No, but it certainly makes you look like you're out to pick someone up tonight."

Well, I have had a rough couple of months. Maybe a one night stand would help with the whole down in the dumps thing.
