The club was called the Inferno. Didn't Inferno mean a wild fire that causes nothing but damage? I'm pretty sure it did. Or maybe hell? Great, beautiful name for a night club. Honestly, it sounds more like the name of a prison or something.
Sarah and I sat at the bar. Her beautiful blonde hair flowing down her back. She sipped on her drink and laughed at the drunk girls all over the attractive guys. I laughed too. There's nothing worse then being drunk. Oh wait, yeah there was.
Being a drunk girl.
"They're here!" Sarah said excitingly as she pointed to the door. I turned and looked through the smoke. Two male figures stood in the doorway. They were too far away for me to see any facial features. But they were tall. And it kinda interested me.
The two guys spotted us and walked over. The first one, also the shorter one, stood over Sarah and kissed her. He was blonde, with bright blue eyes and sharp edges on his face. His chin came down in a sharp point and his face was spotted with freckles. He was kinda cute.
Now, I'm not gonna say it. But if you could pick any guy out from that bar that night, it would've been Caleb.
Caleb stood in front of me and smiled. My heart rate quickened, he had a really cute smile. Caleb wore a gray shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes. For such a simple look, he actually looked good. His eyes were green and brown. So I guess it makes his eye hazel? They were big eyes and you would totally be able to get lost in them. His dark hair flipped off to the right side.
Caleb smiled once again and I smiled back, "Hey." He said. His voice rumbled lowly with an heavy country accent and sent shivers up my back.
Impressive.
"Hi," I said, smiling at him.
"Looks like they like each other." Sarah joked.
"Sarah, do you mind introducing us to your friend?" Caleb asked.
"Well, Caleb, Joey, this is Melinda. She just moved into town today." Sarah turned to me. "Melinda, this is Joey and Caleb." She said as she motioned to the attractive guys.
Caleb flashed a smirk and held out his hand. "Nice to meet you, Melinda." He said. My stomach turned when he said my name. I gently shook his hand and let go. Letting my fingers linger slightly. His hands were strong.
I'll admit it. I kinda liked him.
Sarah and Joey went off and started talking and drinking. Leaving Caleb and I too ourselves.
"Can I buy you a drink?" He asked, pulling his wallet out of his pocket.
"I won't say no to that." I said.
"Two beers for the lady and I." Caleb told the bartender. The bartender dripped under to were I couldn't see her and picked up two glasses. She grabbed a spout and filled up the glasses. Sweetly, she sat them in front of us and Caleb smiled.
"Thank you Deb." He said, handing her the money. Deb blushed and took the money from him. God, this guy was an absolute flirt.
And he knew it.
I sipped on the beer while looking around. People dancing, others drinking, and the rest singing to the karaoke machine. I turned back to Caleb and he took a swig of his beer.
"What brings you to Texas?" He asked.
"Problems at my old place." I said.
Caleb nodded and looked around once again, his eyes landed on the dance floor and he smiled. "Would you like to dance?"
I quickly shook my head no. "No thank you."
Caleb rolled his eyes and stood up. He quickly took my hand and pulled me out of my seat. "Come on, live a little."
I gulped as he pulled me onto the dance floor. He pulled me close and said, "Just don't think. You'll be fine. It's just us."
I swayed my hips to the beat and picked up speed. I moved my hands from side to side in the air and Caleb laughed, his hands latched onto my waist. He swayed with me. Others would call it grinding, but personally I called it fun.
Because I actually felt free.
It actually felt like it was just us.
