Chapter 10
~The beginning of school went by uneventful, due to the fact that Blake is suspended for three days and Rachael is sick again. My feet carried me in the direction of the school cafeteria. I am wearing white skinny jeans, a black adidas sweatshirt, and black and white shoes.
I did not have the time this morning to go searching through my never ending closet of Prada and Gouache just for an outfit for the boring day ahead of me called 'Tuesday'. My hair took basically no effort. My black hair hung loosely in a braided mess that to my surprise actually looked good.
As soon as I stood at the doors of the cafeteria all eyes were on me. Ever since my name changed I've been getting dirty looks from the Hoes in the corner that always have their arms draped around some guys neck. The geeks that just nod in approval all the time. The cheerleaders and jocks that look at the door and wave me to come over. It's nothing special though. "So tell me everything that happened yesterday!" Mandy said. She has long blonde hair and the perfect green eyes that any guy that looks into them would definitely swoon.
"Um not much to say..." I trail off feeling slightly embarrassed to have this conversation about me being elbowed in my face.
"Of course it is... It's all over the Internet!" Her eyes widened as did mine. She looked as if she wasn't supposed to give me that information. Everyone around the table seemed to stop talking and ease their selves into our conversation.
"Say what now?!"
"Yeah some kid video taped it and put it up in their Facebook." She said while looking down at the table.
"What's their name?" I said calmly. They all looked at each other with a slight tinge of shock and scare. "What?"
"It's just that your so calm... and we all know that when your mad you only go calm when you have something ... planned." Chuck said. I chuckled at him which only made him back away.
"Oh, come one. You guys know I wouldn't hurt you." I said with a cocky grin. "Unless you get on my bad side! Which I'm pretty sure you won't! So what's this kids name?" My eyes glances of back over to Mandy, who was scrolling through her timeline on Facebook.
"Um... His name is Skylar Peres. He's a Sophomore."
"Can I see a picture please?" She handed me her phone and I tapped his profile picture. Long blonde hair, blue eyes, a little but of acne on his forehead, and Ray Ban black thick glasses. "Hey Ray can you do me a hacking job please?"
Ray is known for his hacking specialities. You give him a job and in under 24 hours the information you asked for would be placed in your hands. "Sure, what's in it for me?" I rolled my eyes.
"What do you want?"
"How about a ride?"
"You mean to school?"
He smirked. "I mean an actual car from your stepdads garage." I smiled.
"How about I just give you a grand." I smirked at him and he rolled his eyes.
"Fine! I'll meet you at your locker for the exchange." I nodded and turned my attention back to my discarded lunch. Ceasar salad, Ginger Ale and a Halo.
Halfway through lunch a intercom message came from the principal. "Miss Camile Dwan you are needed in the principals office." He repeated twice. I looked over at Mandy and rolled my eyes.
"What its not like I did anything wrong!" I snapped and jumped out of my seat. I headed towards the office doors my pace steady so I can catch my breath and be calm when I entered. I never really liked going to the office the last time I went was because something had happened to my mother while she was working and it led to me staying over Racheals house for almost a whole week! And that was horrible. I've never heard anyone talk so much in an hour. I pulled open the door and walked up to the secretaries desk. A lady with dark almond colored hair greeted me and told me to go right in.
Like usual I would stand out there for a couple of minutes before finding the courage to take a step through, but today I felt like nothing was wrong.
As I stepped through the door the noise in the room silenced and the principal stood. "Mr. Vaull there is no reason to stand in my presence." I joked. He smirked and sat back down. I looked to my left and two extremely tall and buff men were standing there. "Is there a reason why I am here with security?" I huffed, a little annoyed.
"They are here to protect you." I raised an eyebrow.
"But why I'm perfectly fine." I said and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Since the matters yesterday, I don't find your assurance quite right." He said slowly.
"It was just a stupid drunk ex-boyfriend!" I yelled. "Why does every single adult have to look at me like I'm going to be killed or something?" I said a little quieter.
"You are the step-daughter of a well known business owner. You are the publics eye now and someone will try to get to you. That is why we have called the enforcements. We don't want to see one of ours get hurt." He pleaded. I rolled my eyes.
"So, your inquiring, that they," I said as I pointed to the men, "have to follow me around like lost puppies?" I snorted. "This is high school! Not some type of jail! I'm not Americas most wanted!"
"Yeah, but you are the person who drawer attention to this school. There have been over a hundred files for people who want to enroll to this school. The funny thing about it is that they are all male. I have to accept and decline some, but I need to be careful. And to be extra safe I have hired bodyguards. They will alternate days."
"So, can I get your names?"
"I'm Rick." The taller one said.
"And I'm Tony." Tony is more buff than Rick, but they both equally have their advantages.
"Does my father know about this?" I turned my attention back to Mr. Vaull.
"Yes and he agrees. That is why this plan has been in action and yesterday's events was definitely and eye opener to what can happen to you." I nodded.
"Somehow you have managed to impress me, but also under estimate me." I glared at him. I walked towards the guards. "Rick you start today. Tony I'll see you tomorrow."
With that Tony left the room. And I smirked. This is going to be quite a day.
