I unlocked the front door and stepped in. Something didn't seem right. It was unusually quiet. Mom was usually home by now. I walked over to the kitchen. Pieces of glass was was scattered on the floor. Blood trailed behind it. I stepped around the shards, worry began to fill me. I followed the trail. It lead all the way to the pantry. From it I heard muffled crying. I gently opened the door.
And there mom was, sitting in a crouched position with tears falling from her face and blood falling from her wounds.
"Mom, what happened?!" Blood was rushing from her hands quicker than ever. She didn't answer.
"Lets get you cleaned up" I said gently grabbing her wrists, supporting her back with my hand when I brought her up
~~~
"I miss your father, life seems unbearable without him."
Me and mom were sitting on the couch, sipping on some tea. Her wounds were cleaned and bandaged up. The only thing I couldn't get to stop flowing were her tears.
"I know mom". I grasped hold on to her hands. "But we are here for each other."
She looked at me. A smile came across her face. "We are."
Mom soon got tired after that, I stayed in her bedroom until she fell asleep. I then went to my room to check when my flight would be. I was excited but worried at the same time. I felt like something was holding me back, or telling me not to go. My flight was booked for September 11. And that was in a couple of days. I thought about how mom would be alone. I also felt guilty for leaving William. He was always there for me, now I feel like I wasn't always there for him.
I received a text message. It was from William. A smile spread across my face.
Hey Mere! Are you there?
I was so grateful that he texted me. All my problems seemed to drift off whenever I talked or was with him.
Hello, I'm here^
I was wondering actually, if I could see you one more time before you leave. Would that be ok?
I guess William wasnt upset, he was a strong person that never gave up.
That would be lovely
Ok love, see you soon <3
Seeing that spread a smile across my face.
