Laurence's pov
I glared at the woman in front of me and growled "I will never kill Aphmau." The lady smirked but sighed. "Okay, drink this." She then forced a liquid in my mouth and I coughed as it burned my throat. I started to feel dizzy and my legs started to glow. "What is going on!?" I yelled and the woman laughed. Then, my legs went numb but I could feel scales building up from my feet.
"Stop!" I yelled and then I felt my mind go blank and my vision darken. When my consciousness came back I was holding my sword to Aphmau. I started to sob as I fought the dark whispers telling me to kill her. Why? Why am I doing this? I thought I promised to protect Aphmau but this isn't protecting her! I had been talking to Aphmau but I didn't remember what we said.
Then, Aphmau started to swim closer to me and I watched as my blade pierced her skin. "Aphmau no!" I yelled as she fell into my arms. "Stop, no! Don't die!" I yelled and held Aphmau in my arms. I pulled my blade away from her and her blood started to fill the water. "Aphmau!" I yelled and I could hear the woman laughing. "You! You will pay!" I yelled and I spotted her sitting on a rock.
I swam quickly towards her and pierced my sword into her. She seemed surprised but then smiled. "Thank you." She whispered and then I froze. I just killed her....without hesitation....I let go of the sword and quickly swam towards Aphmau. I picked her up and it felt weird swimming with a tail. I had no idea where I was going but I started following the stars.
As a pirate you need to know how to navigate through the stars so I was pretty good at it. Maybe I can take Aphmau back to her home....or my ship but....that is too far..I think? I carried Aphmau until I came to her home. Phoenix Drop I think. "Help! I need help!" I yelled and people gasped as they saw Aphmau. "Aphmau!" I heard a voice yell out and saw the blue haired woman.
"What did you do to her!?" She yelled but froze when she saw my tail. "Don't ask. Just help Aphmau!" I said worried and the blue haired lady nodded. We went to a castle and then a man came rushing out. "Aphmau!" He yelled when he saw her. He had a golden tail and I am guessing he is her father. "What happened?" He asked worried and took Aphmau out of my arms.
"This is my fault." I said and the man raised an eyebrow. "How so?" He asked and I bit my quivering lip. "I...I was the one who....stabbed her....I couldn't control myself. I was being controlled but I know that is no excuse." The man laughed and I looked up at him surprised. "Let's keep him Katelyn." He said and Katelyn frowned. "What? Aren't you going to do anything about Aphmau!? She's hurt!" I yelled.
The man smiled and ruffled my hair like I was a small child. "Don't worry, Aphmau will be fine. She has that power to heal. She'll just be asleep for a while." I don't know why but I burst out crying. "Hey, hey, why are you crying?" The man asked as he rubbed my back. "I-I'm sorry....I just....I thought I was going to lose her." I said and wiped away the tears.
"What is your name?" The man asked and I said "My name is Laurence...Please, if it isn't too much to ask....can I well, ask you something?" The man nodded and I smiled. "I want to have your blessing." I said and pulled a ring off my finger. This ring was given to me by Cadenza's dad. It was a wedding ring that was for a girl. After Cadenza's mom died I was given the ring and was told to give it to the person I loved most.
The person I love is Aphmau.

Thank you all again for waiting. I apologize for taking so long to update but hopefully my schedule will be back to normal. Thanks again!)
