I had known Quinn Summers since primary school, and, the ironic thing is, our families used to be so close and we used to be friends! We were so close, inseparable even. We did everything together. But then the.....problems....started and Quinn decided that I was weird and she didn't want to be my friend any more. She started to ignore me, she spread rumours and lies around the school, and slowly but surely, she became my bully instead of my friend......
"Hey Willow! Did you enjoy your walk?!" Quinn and her little gang laughed at that last comment. They knew that I had been upset and they knew how much this was annoying me and they expected me to react, but I just kept on walking. Turns out, that's never a good idea.
"HEY! I'm talking to you! Do NOT walk away from me!" She grabbed my arm and spun me around. Unfortunately, this corridor was deserted. "I thought you would've learned by now that you shouldn't ignore me." Yeh, I guess I had from the experience after school yesterday.
I had been ignoring her insults all day and I was going to pay for it. I had been walking home through the park. I had had my headphones in and had been minding my own business, when all of a sudden I was pulled to the side. I was dragged through a gap between two trees and found myself in a clearing. Both of my arms were grabbed by a different person each. It took me a couple of seconds, but I soon realised that it was two of Quinn's tag alongs, and then Quinn herself appeared. Brilliant.
"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" A smile was drawn across her lips. She was going to enjoy every second of this if she had it her way. "So.....little Willow. All alone, with no one to help her. So what can we do to have some fun?"
"Leave me alone." I said. My voice was slightly stronger than I thought it would be and I felt that I could use this to my advantage. You never let them see you weak. "If you do anything to me you'll regret it. People will find out. You would never get away with it."
"Oh honey," she said, her sickly laugh following her words, "What do you think we're going to do? We'd never do anything too noticeable and you'd be too scared to tell anyone." She started to move towards me and I could feel my heart starting to beat faster and panic starting to rise. Now I felt vulnerable and that was never good. I could see her starting to flex her right hand and then it curled up into a fist. Oh god. No. I closed my eyes and waited for the first blow and then.....
"HEY! Leave that poor girl alone! Go on! Clear out of here!" The grip which had been on my arms released and I heard them running away. I opened my eyes to find a man standing in front of me. His dog was sitting faithfully by his heel. "You OK?" he asked. I figured he had been the one who had scared them off.
"Yeh. Erm.....yeh, I'm fine. Thank you."
"It's fine. You sure you're going to be OK to get home?"
" Yeh, I'll be fine. Thanks." I said goodbye to the man and walked off. I was lucky, I had escaped that time.
"What do you want?" I asked pulling my arm out of her deathly grasp.
"What do I want? Hmmm.....where do I start?" Her gang were standing behind her giggling. I knew that this wouldn't be good. Quinn was tapping her index finger on her lip as if thinking very hard. I knew she wasn't. She always had this planned out. "Well, we could start with......"
"Ladies. Is everything OK?" Some teacher who I recognised, but didn't personally know, was walking towards us and could clearly see the look of distress on my face. I knew it was there. I wish it wasn't because then Quinn would know that she's winning, but it was there, and I think it saved me from Quinn.
"Everything's fine," I said with a forced, and probably not all that convincing, smile. Then, I walked away, feeling all their eyes upon me as I left. Luckily, I had been saved again by some stranger walking pass.
