Chapter 15- Part 2

I instantly walked towards him as my heart was pacing faster. He was shirtless and had quite a few scratches but none seemed too serious. I bit my lip to try and hide my smile as I stared at him.

His eyes looked unsettled as they kept flickering from me to Shane who was presumably right behind me. At that moment I didn't care about what he saw or thought and threw my arms around him. My face was in his neck which was warm and so soft. I couldn't help but smile about how boyish his body still was. He chuckled lightly and held me closer then let out a sigh.

"You're okay.. God !You're okay" He whispered almost like he was reassuring himself. I looked up and saw his innocent yet worried face, a rush of warmth overwhelmed my body as I nodded vigorously. He brought up his hand to the back of my head and pulled me closer then placed his forehead on mine. I closed my eyes causing the tears to flow down to my cheeks and dug my face into his neck again.

"I-I'm so sorry" I managed to say into his skin. Instead of replying he simply rubbed my back and held me tighter.

I closed my eyes tighter and for some daft reason started praying to God in my head. 'Please, Please don't let this moment end. I don't want to leave him. He's the closest thing to family I have'. I felt a pair of hands pull me away from Glenn and also interrupted my prayer.

"He's hurt, we should clean him up before heading back" Shane said gently, his facial expression had softened as his locked his eyes on mine. I simply nodded and he handed me the first aid kit then helped settle Glenn on the floor.

I knelt down infront of him then looked back up at Shane. "Um.. can we have moment alone?" I asked hesitantly, I didn't need Shane becoming suspicious and ruin everything. He stared at me for a moment then looked at Glenn before nodding and walking back towards the tree he was initially leaning against.

It took all my efforts not to roll my eyes, he obviously thought of Glenn as no ladies' man and absolute no threat compared to himself. I took out a piece of white cloth and wet it with the water in my bag and started to clean the scratches on his arms causing him to flinch.

I wanted to know what had happened and how he got these but that would only waste time, what I had to say was more important.

"Glenn I'm going to tell you something but you can't react, Shane must not get suspicious" He looked at me in confusion but slightly nodded cautiously. I gave a small smile as I started to clean the scratches on his chest. "I'm not going back with you I-" " wait what no !" he almost shouted, my eyes snapped up frantically causing him to instantly hush down. "Please don't, I need to go Glenn, I only stayed to find you."  

His eyes had become glossy as they stared into mine pleading me to stop. "There's a girl back there named Ava, when she's alone tell her there's a small town a mile north, she can find me there." my mind instantly flashed back to the way she defended Daryl "I-if she still wants to that is" I quickly added.

"Ariana" Glenn pleaded in a weak tone but I carried on knowing Shane must be getting impatient "Tell Rick not to let anyone come after me and... a-and say bye for me yeah?" my eyes were blurry again and it took everything not to start crying . "Please don't" Glenn whispered as he placed his hand on my face. I took a deep breath in as a tear trickled down my face and kissed his hand. "I have to" I weakly smiled back at him.

I heard Shane approaching and quickly wiped it away and stood up. He placed his hand around my waist for a brief second to probably show that I'm his (ehhh) and helped Glenn stand up. "We should get going" he said as he picked up the first aid kit and put it back in the bag. I took it from him and put in on my back, seeing as it's all I'll have now. "There's still a few hours of daylight left, y'all go, I'll try and hunt somethin" I lied whilst staring at Glenn and hoping he won't say anything.

"We'll take Glenn back and go together" The emphasise on 'together' sent a shiver down my spine and caused Glenn to shuffle uncomfortably. I guess it was obvious Shane thought we were a couple now.

"No we'll lose daylight and you'll only slow me down." Shane flinched at my harsh tone which made me feel bad but I had to get rid of them. He slowly nodded obviously hurt by my words and I smiled back and turned to Glenn. His uncomfortable expression melted as we embraced again, unwillingly I pulled away quickly and briefly hugged Shane so he wouldnt become suspicious.

His touch was warm and gentle, his manly scent was overpowering and probably drove the girls crazy. It wouldn't take much time to fall for Shane which is why it was so vital to leave now.

I pulled away and waved them goodbye knowing I'll probably never see them again. I stood there long enough to see Glenn and Shane disappear behind the trees and quickly started making my way towards the town.

As I walked through the tree towards North,I silently prayed that Ava would come too. I've been around people too long now. It would drive me crazy if I were to have to survive alone again.
