Demonic Angels

Chapter 8

Lauren's P.O.V.

When it was Camila's turn to bid, she walked over to the man in the blue suit with a skanky pep in her step. She tried to make her hips sway side to side and earned looks from the men in the line. She stood up on her tippy-toes, making sure to push her butt out as she leaned towards the man conducting this whole thing. He seemed unamused at first when she was whispering in his ear, but I could spot a slight smirk as she continues to speak.

"The dark skinned girl and the short one go with the woman in the black dress, but this one gets the tall blondie," he shouted.

"What? No, I had the last bid-" I was cut off.

"And this woman has made me a business proposal I cannot refuse. You can leave with them, or you can leave with nothing. Your price will decrease by a third and you'll be on your way."

I have had enough of Camila. That trashy wench has tempted enough men to get in my way. It's not like this is the first time. It's the only reason she was the top angel when we were both in heaven.

I walked over sternly with my eyes focused completely on her. She gave me a grin, thinking I wouldn't do anything. A swift punch to her eye proved her wrong. Now one eye had a scar over it, and the other would have a bruise. It was a complete set.

I heard a bang come from behind me and a small prickling spread on my skin. Another bang, and another, and another. The bullets kept pinching me amidst my rampage. I turned around and faced the man. My wings were gone, but my angelic strength still remained intact. No human form alone could do much to me. Let alone a tiny gun.

All the men grabbed their girls and ran off the docks in fear from the cross fire. Some of the girls even took the chance to run free. All of the guards when chasing after them, all except one.

The guard who shot me stood frozen in place as i made direct eye contact with him. I walked over to the him slowly as he frantically tried to reload his gun. I have to admit that seeing an evil and ignorant man squirm was kind of funny.

Before he even got the chance to shoot me, I pushed him off the docks and into the frigid waters. Not single sound had come from below, and he hadn't come back to the surface so far. Poor fool must've drowned.

When I turned around Camila and the man in the Navy Blue was no longer in sight. Neither was Dinah. They must've ran while I was distracted by the guard.

"Lauren! Lauren, help!" I heard two familiar voices say. It was Normani and Ally.

I ran up the docks to see what was going on. I kept hearing the same voices, but it was hard to tell where they were. All of the girls on the ship were running around screaming. I looked around everywhere until I saw them by a black truck.

Normani was holding onto Dinah as well as Ally. Camila had her by the hands as she tried to pull her into the back seat of the truck. Of course Normani and Ally were only humans, so their attempt was useless. Camila was too strong for them.

I came running as fast as I could, but the girls and the guards all kept getting in the way. All I could do was push through until I tripped over a gun that a guard had dropped. Everyone was far too anxious to see me on the floor so feet kept pushing me back into the ground each time I tried to get up.

I looked up to see Dinah being pulled into the car. Normani's and Ally's grip had slipped and they fell to the floor with a grunt. The blue suit man sat in the driver's seat driving away as Camila kept Dinah bound in her arms in the backseat. The last thing I saw of her was Dinah thrashing around in Camila's arms while Camila just grinned in pleasure.

One of the girls picked up the gun I tripped on and began shooting to save her life as well as others. Without hesitation, the guards all fired in her direction. Most of the bullets entered her skull, but a couple others had been shot as well. Her body and the others around her all came crashing down on me.

I couldn't tell what there faces looked like before their face were torn to shreds by the bullets. I couldn't tell which body the blood pouring on my face was coming from. And I couldn't tell where Lauren was taken.
