Two weeks and a half went by and the day that Dylan and the boys left for tour was coming closer. It was only a few days away now. I'd tried not to dwell on it too much the last few weeks but now I had to. They would be gone nearly half a school year. I was the youngest of the bunch, at 17, so I still had a year of sixth form left. I had no idea what I would do without my friends for so long.

My cell phone rang, breaking through my thoughts. I pressed ignore without looking at it. I didn't want anything to disturb the peaceful quietness of this secret place. I was sitting under a willow tree in a secluded corner of the park. The park itself was a few kilometres from my house, relatively close to Alexander and Dylan's parents' house. It was on the playground here that we met years ago. Then, when they'd wanted to start a band, I'd introduced the to Will who had then found Christian. But this place, this tree up on a little slope of a hill, was special. It was a place that Alexander and I had found together when we were younger and had spent many hours playing and talking and laughing here. None of the others had wanted to come explore with us the day that we found it, so they'd lost out on this magic place. Now, watching the sun as it set, I felt a pang of sadness. I would miss all of them so much. I heard rustling behind me and turned to see Alexander walking in, pushing the leaves away.

"Thought I'd find you here when you wouldn't answer Will." He said, taking a seat on the ground next to me.

"Oh. I didn't look at the name." I told him, now looking back at the setting sun. Brilliant rays of light were turning the sky beautiful hues of orange, pink, and purple.

"Ah. Well, he was calling to check times with you and let you know about school."

"What for? I know you guys are leaving in three days." I hadn't seen much of any of them lately because they were busy making sure everything was ready for tour and making last minute adjustments.

"He was calling to tell you that he had arranged things with your school as well as to tell you that we'd be picking you up early."

"Wait...what?" I turned to look at him.

He looked confused. "Don't you remember? We promised that you could come with us on our next tour if our album did well. And the album has done well and we keep our promises so...you're going on tour with us...unless you don't want to."

I let that sink in for a minute. I had forgotten about that promise. "You mean...ahhh!" I shrieked, tackling him in a hug. He'd wrapped his arms around me when he fell backwards but kept them there when I finally stopped squeezing his neck to death, leaving me lying on top of him in the grass.

He laughed, making his chest rumble. "You really didn't know? You thought we were just going to leave you on your own for six months?" I blushed lightly, looking down. He sighed playfully. "Amie, Amie, Amie. And what would you have done if we had left you?"

"Spiralled into a deep depression and stopped eating." I responded immediately.

"Then I suppose I'm like your knight in shining armour, saving you from yourself, eh?" He paused then shook his head. "You really didn't know."

I didn't say anything, just squeezed him close for a second. "Wait," I said lifting my head off his chest so I could look at him. His dirty blond hair had flopped into his eyes and I brushed it away. "What did you mean Will arranged things with the school? And the times?"

"Will called and spoke with the dean of your sixth form and somehow managed to get in touch with your parents to get permission since you're still a minor. Your parents agreed and should have wired you money. He also cleared it with your school so that you can just take your last classes when you get back, so you'll only be attending the second and third terms. And the time thing was to make sure you knew that we would be picking up you and your things at your house Thursday morning around six AM." He explained.
