The Fountain of Youth

Chapter 3: The Great Escape ✔️

(POV Carolina)

"How are you still alive. I thought you were dead", Javier said.
"Well let me tell you something......
My crew and I have been stuck on this island for 11 months already and it's because of this peasant, he brought me the wrong map", Ponce de Leòn said.
"How was he supposed to know", I said.
"Well, maybe if he ACTUALLY looked we wouldn't be hear right now", he said.
"So there are different maps of this legend?", I asked.
"Yes, plenty of them hidden around the world", Ponce de Leòn said.
"What!", Javier said.
"Yes, as I left Cuba we were heading south when a storm came and pushed us here, we all had a feeling the Fountain of Youth would be here. So we looked for 2 months and found nothing", Ponce de Leòn said.
"Leave them alone Ponce", said Bucky.
"Shut up peasant", said one of the crew members.

"So we have two prisoners and a trader. MEN BRING THIS PEASANT AND LOCK HIM UP WITH THE OTHER TWO", Ponce de Leòn said.
4 men grabbed us and threw us into the cage.

Inside the Cage......

I saw my brother looking worried and Bucky in the corner laying down. I checked on my brother first, then I checked on Bucky. He had bruises almost every where in his body and he was bleeding on his arm, so I started ripping my shirt to cover the blood on Bucky's arm.

"Are you two okay", Bucky said.
"Yes we're both fine", Javier said.
"How are you feeling Bucky", I asked
"I'm in a lot of pain miss, but don't worry I will get better in no time", Bucky said.
"I think he needs some water", I said.
"But where are we going to get water", Javier said.
"Oh, I didn't think about that", I said.
"Maybe you should get some rest Bucky", I said.
"But who will protect you miss", Bucky said.
"My brother will of course", I said.

Then Bucky looked at me one more time and then he went to sleep. As the cage turned left I saw a big brown ship in front of me.

"That must be their ship", Javier said.
"It sure is", I said.
Then a big door opened, we were inside the ship. I was pulled out from the cage and they closed it so no one would escape.

"So, what do we have here", Ponce de Leòn said as he pointed to my pocket.
"Nothing sir", I replied.
"Men, search her", he said.

Two men approached me, one held my arms and the other searched me. When the men almost reached my pocket I kicked him in the face, then I punched the guy holding me in the face. And then I ran to grab a sword.

"Take it easy miss", Ponce de Leòn replied.
I just stared at him, breathing heavily I looked at the cage.
"Let us go, then you don't have to worry about us anymore", I said.
"Fine, but first give me the map that you have and then I will let them go, is that a deal", he said.
"Yes, it's a deal", I said.
As I have him the map, he asked his men to let my brother and Bucky go. As we began to walk off, I remembered something,

"Before we go, can I have some water", I asked.
"Sure miss", Ponce de Leòn said.
One of his men went to get some water. Then he came back and have it to me.
"Thank you sir", I said.
"Your welcome miss", he said.
Then we left the ship and started heading back to the island.

"Sis, that was so brave of you to do", Javier said.
"Yeah, I was brave, but I gave the map", I said.
"Don't worry sis, maybe it was good thing to do after all", Javier said.
"Where did you learn how to fight", Bucky asked.
"My brother taught me, he's my coach", I said.
"Well, is it okay if he can teach me too", Bucky said.
"Sure, I would love too", Javier said.
I just looked at my brother, he hasn't been this happy ever since "that" day.

Now look at him, he has a friend now. I felt proud that I trusted Bucky in the first place. Now all I could do was think, was it a good idea to give the map to Ponce de Leòn. That question haunted me like something wasn't right.

"We need to get that map back", I said.
"But how sis", Javier said.
"We need a plan", Bucky said.
