I had one word to describe my emotions right now. Bored. Yes, I was in a vampire prince’s castle, and that vampire prince happened to be my recent boyfriend, and I was utterly and extremely bored out of my mind. Then again, that might have something to do with having two broken ankles and wrists.
I sighed, the bed going up, and then back down with my weight. After a few seconds, I thought Why am I not listening to music? I grabbed my iPod and selected Behind These Hazel Eyes by Kelly Clarkson. She did really well in this song with her high notes.
Here I am, once again
I'm torn into pieces
Can't deny it, can't pretend
Just thought you were the one
Broken up, deep inside
But you won't get to see the tears I cry
Behind these hazel eyes
Bored with my iPod, I decided I could go on YouTube and look up some of All Time Low’s new music, my second favorite band. I was just about to call Seth in, but then thought better of it. I didn’t need him. I could at least try to do it. If nothing else, I would army crawl.
Just as I was about to roll off the bed, Prince trotted in, saw his bone on the floor, grabbed it, and walked backed out. “Prince?” I called. He stuck his head in the doorway. I patted the bed, praying he would jump up next to me so I wouldn’t be so lonely. I could play with my puppy for a while. His tail started wagging. He got a running start, and leaped with every muscle his little body possessed; he barely cleared the edge, but he made it.
“Good boy,” I cooed, scratching behind his ears. He licked my nose, making me laugh.
“Look out, Seth. I think you have some competition,” Cody’s unmistakable playful voice teased from the doorway. I glanced over to see that he, along with Cassie on his back, and Seth were watching me amuse myself.
I was suddenly conscious of my pajamas I was still in. I hadn’t bothered to change, since I was just going to laze around the house all day. My jammies consisted of a large, baggy gray t-shirt with Tweedy on it, with black, square glasses and a book; there was also a pencil behind her ear. It read ‘Smart Chicks RULE!’ I had it matched with a pair of black booty shorts. No makeup was on my face, and my hair was its usual frizzy, curly mess.
In contrast to my casual clothes, Cassie was decked out in black skinny jeans and a purple tank top that had a black rose on it. Black rose earrings hung next to her cheeks, and a long silver necklace made out of interlocking hoops hung around her neck down to the middle of her stomach. Her hair was beautifully curled, and a small purple bow held her bangs back. Light eyeliner rimmed her eyes, making them pop.
Cody’s tan chest was visible through his thin white t-shirt, and simple blue basketball shorts covered the rest down to his knees. The only thing breaking the solid color were two white stripes down each side and a white Nike symbol in the corner. His blonde hair was flopping in his blue eyes, which were sparkling with happiness.
“Hey! Don’t be checking out my man!” Cassie complained. I blushed, narrowing my eyes at her. She laughed. “Check out your own man!” She pointed at Seth. Curiously, I did a quick once over on him.
He hadn’t even bothered with a shirt today, like he didn’t most days, showing of the smooth planes of his chest and clearly displaying his eight-pack, easily one of the hottest qualities he had in the looks department. Not one of my favorites, but it was hot. I preferred his hair and eyes. Simply khaki capris hung low on his hips, showing off the waistband of his black boxers. His usual black mop of hair slightly shielded his green eyes, just how I liked it. It made him look dangerous and very sexy. Not that I’ve ever told him that or plan on him figuring it out anytime soon. I thought I was entitled to a couple secrets.
