I woke up in a start. I looked around and realized it was just a dream. A scary dream at that though.

I was running through the the streets of Rome, chasing some person that I needed to catch for my dad. I never saw his face just the back of him. I chased and chased until he just disappeared in front of my eyes. I looked around and saw that I was alone and not in Rome anymore. I was in the countryside in the middle of a vineyard. I have no idea how I got here. I look around me and see nothing but vines. I turn around and around trying to see someone. I realize that nobody is around and start running in between the grapevines. I keep running and it feels like I have made no progress though the vineyard. I look around again see someone in the distance. It was the man that I was chasing through the streets of Rome. I yell towards him. He turns around and his face is all blurred out, but I can guess that he is most likely smirking at me. I have a feeling that I need to run. So that is what I do, I turn around and run like crazy.

I don't know if he is following me or not but I just keep running. I make a sudden stop because the man is in front of me and is not moving. He steps towards me and lunges.

That is when I woke up. I don't know what happened to me but all I know is that I don't want to find out.

I got up and started getting ready for the day. I looked through my clothes and chose a cute skirt and shirt. I didn't know if I wanted flats or boots so I tried both on. I decided that flats looked better. I grabbed my bag and walked out of my room.

I went into the kitchen and saw Aunt Tillia working on breakfast. She was making eggs and bacon. Who ever created bacon was a genus.

I walked over to the counter and rested my hands on the counter. Was just looked around the kitchen when I heard a crash and a gasp. I looked up and saw Aunt Tillia looking at me in shock.

"Are you alright?" I ask her.

"Um... your hands... they... look...um?" She stammered.

I look at my hands and curse at myself for not covering them up.

"Are you alright? Do you need help?" She questions.

"I am fine I don't need your help." I tell her frankly.

"What happened?" She asks.

"Nothing." I say.

"Nothing! Nothing! Your hands are covered in scabs!" She yells at me.

"It is nothing! It's not your job to care about my hands! That's my job!"

"Your job! Well you didn't really take care of them! I mean look at them!" She yells again.

"Well I do take care of them! So it doesn't matter." I say looking her in the eye.

"Are you kidding me! Your hands look horrible! It looks like you got into a fight!"

"Well I did." I tell her.

"You what! You got into a fight! With who?" She questions.

"I got in a fight with a punching bag." I smirk at her and stand up and walk out the door.

"We are not done discussing this!" I hear Aunt Tillia open the door and tell me as I am getting on my bike.

"I am! So get over it!" I tell her as I put my helmet and ride off.

I arrive at school still fuming. I get off my bike and take my helmet off and see Aiden walking towards me. I am not in the mood for his attitude. I might loose it if he pushes me at all today.

"Maddi!" Aiden yells.

I look at him and glare.

"Wow, baby, if looks could kill I would be dead." I laughed at me.

"No need to shorten my name! My name is Maddison and that is it!" I yell at him, "And don't call me baby!"

"Is it someone's time of the month?" He smirks.

I look at him and glare again. I walk towards the front of the school.

"Hey what did I say? I was just joking." He calls after me grabbing my hand.

I gasp in pain as his hand touches my knuckles.

He looks at me and then looks at my hands, "Did this happen last night?"

"Why do you care?" I ask him.

"I don't." He tells me and walks away.

I don't know why but it hurts a lot more than it should.

I walk into the school and head to first period and don't listen to a single thing the teacher talks about.
