I arrived at the park a few minutes after leaving Aiden's house. I knew that leaving him will be one of the hardest things I will ever have to do. But I was doing this for a reason. I needed to save my family and keep my friends safe.

I walked over to the swing set. I was slowly swinging when I heard a branch snap behind me.

I didn't turn around knowing who it was.

The foot steps got closer to me when they stopped behind me.

"What no hug or kiss for your loving boyfriend?" Jason asked in a mocking tone.

I still didn't turn around not wanting him to know he was getting to me.

"Well since I can tell how much you love me," he said in a sarcastic voice, "We should get going."

Before he could start walking back to the car I stood up and faced him for the first time since he arrived in the town. I was shocked. He looked different then the last time I saw him. He had longer hair and dark circles under his eyes from his lack of sleep.

"Like what you see?" He asked with a smirk on his lips.

"You will let my family go and not hurt my friends if I go with you right?" I asked him in a hard tone.

"Yes if you come with me the nobody you know will be hurt, unless they come after you then what ever happened to them is all of their fault." He said shrugging his shoulders.

I didn't like that answer but it was better then some other thing he could have said. Lucky for me I left a note for every one that I am keeping safe and in every single note it tells them to not come looking for me.

I hate that I have to leave Sleepy Hollow. Even though it had a creepy name it will always be the place I call home and where my heart is.

Here I have found love and friendship that I did t find from anyone else.

Jason and I make our way to his car when I can see Grace waiting in the front seat.

I get in the back of the car and sit down and stay silent the whole way out of the is town that I will most likely never see again.

As we pass the come back soon sign I take a deep breath knowing that I am doing the right thing.

I just hope that everybody else realizes that and moves on.

That is all I am asking from them.

Ten years later Aiden's POV ~

I wake up to someone bouncing on my bed. I look up and see my daughter smiling without her two front teeth, jumping up and down trying to wake me and her mother up.

"Wake up it's Christmas!" She yells at the top of her lungs.

"Okay princess we are awake. Let's go open presents!" I tell her. She jumps off the bed and runs out of the room down the stairs and into the family room where all of the presents are.

"Merry Christmas," I tell my lovely wife and give her a kiss on the lips.

I love her.

I love her with all of my heart.

It took me awhile to get over Maddison but when I did I found the most wonderful woman in the world. And I have the most precious daughter in the whole universe.

The morning I woke up and didn't find Maddison next to me and in her place I found a letter telling me that she loves me but there is something she has to do and not to look for her. That broke my heart. I asked around and I did look for her for years but I just didn't find her.

I hope she is safe and loved where ever she is.

I get up and go down stairs and we open presents with Christmas music playing in the background.

"Daddy can we go to the park and go sledding?" Asks my energetic daughter.

I look at my wife and she smiles at me and nods her head.

"Yes princess we can go. Go get your coat and gloves so that you don't get cold.

She rushes into a different room where her snow stuff is and comes back with a handful of winter clothing.

We get her dressed and get our own winter things on and head to the park.

When we get there the hill is filled with other families sledding and having fun.

We spend hours there when my girls want hot chocolate.

I head to the closest cafe that is open and grab three steamy hot chocolates.

On my way out I run all the way to the park as fast as I can.

When I get there they drink the warm drink.

I look around when my eyes land on a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes in a black winter coat. Maddison.

She smiles at me the walks back to her car and dives off. And it doesn't hurt to see that.

~

Maddison's POV ~

I see him playing with his wife and daughter. I can tell that he loves them deeply and it hurts a little that I can never have that.

I see him looking around after getting his family hot chocolate.

He sees me and I can tell that he is shocked.

I give him a smile the get in the car where Jason is waiting for me.

"Thanks for letting me do this." I tell him.

The past ten years have not been the best years but I have learned to live with it. I have a daughter now and Jason and I go married three years ago.

I didn't see the point in not marring him because he will never let me go.

Sure my life has not been the best but the people I care about all are happy and safe.

I found myself in the last couple of years and I am happy the way I turned out. I went to college and became a doctor. What I have always wanted to become.

Sure my life isn't awesome and I am not married to the man of my dreams but I have happy because I am safe.

And so are the people I care about.

The end!
