I got up the next morning at around 11 and realised that I seriously needed a shower.
After a nice, warm bath, I made myself a coffee and checked my phone, to see I have 5 messages and 3 missed calls from Shenna, all at 9am. I rang her back, scared.
"Jesus finally." She said on the other end of the phone.
"Morning to you too Shen." I said, popping toast into the toaster. I live alone, and have the occasional friend coming round to sleep over as my parents live in Britain - where I'm from - and my older brother lives in New York. I do have a little puppy though, called Amore, and he's the cutest thing ever. Being an actress means I have to base myself around L.A, as that's where the majority of filming takes place; so I live in sunny Calabasas.
"Oh yeah - morning, sorry, it's just I have something really important to tell you." She spoke fast, and I only just managed to get what she said.
"You've bought me another dog?" I asked sarcastically, opening the fridge and looking for the margarine. I'm sure it was here somewhere...
"No stupid, you've been invited to a film premier - it's a new Spielberg movie and I got tickets for you and a plus one!" She said excitedly.
"Oh my God thank you! But slight problem - I don't have a 'plus one'." I said rolling my eyes. I have friends of course, one of my best friends being Kylie Jenner because we live so close, but she's always so busy with everything, and all my other friends are either also busy, or live in a different continent. "Can I not take you?"
"No you can't take me. You're going to be as seen as the 'actress who always needs a worker by her side because she's scared of going out on her own', and that's not best for business Mands. You seriously have no plus one?"
"Nope." I said as my toast came out of the toaster. I'll butter them later. "I don't know what to do, shall I just not go? I kinda really need a plus one Shen." I said putting my head in my hand.
"No, you have to go Amanda, it's not an option. This is serious shit. If Spielberg likes your look and the way you present yourself he might take you on. That's what you're going for. You need to make Spielberg like you and then you'll be big time Mandy. Big time. Just think, how amazing would it be to be walking the red carpet as the main character for the worlds biggest movie director? You've walked carpets before but this would be amazing. Great exposure, great publicity." Shenna said. She did have some points here, and I had to agree with what she said.
Yes, I have walked down many red carpets before, but they were me being a supporting actress, or me having a slight cameo. If I make a good impression of myself, I may be able to make it as a big actress, and people would actually take me seriously, which is one of the main things an actress wants, more than anything.
"Okay, so what can we do? If I go alone, then that would reflect badly on me, and would give him the impression that I have no friends and no one will like me. I really don't know what to do right now Oh My God." I said going upstairs into my room.
"That's what I'm here for, don't worry, we'll sort something. Just come to my office in about 3 hours and we'll discuss everything there."
"Okay, see you later." I said, opening my curtains.
"Bye love." And then the line went dead.
I sighed and quickly cleaned my bedroom. When I was a kid - like 10 years old - I always wanted to get married to at the age of 21, and be happy forever and ever. Little did I know that I'd end up in an industry with money hungry men, and greedy, bitchy girls. I didn't have any time for a relationship, because I feel as though I wouldn't give him enough attention, so I avoid them like the plague. I don't want it to end badly, so I stay to myself though at this age, I kinda need someone to love apart from Amore.
