Expect the unexpected

Chapter 2

We arrived to my house. I got out and picked her up. She was heavy. I locked my car doors and carried her to my front door. I unlocked my door and walked in. Once we was in I closed and locked the door back and took her to my room. I look off her clothes and laid her down in my bed and I did the same.

"Thank you" She said as she wrapped her little arms around my neck.

I kissed her forehead. I looked at my clock on my cable box and it said 8:45. I sighed and wrapped my arms around her and fell asleep.

"Looks like this is my life now" I thought before I fully fell asleep.

I was woken up out of my sleep by Jaley tapping my nose repeatedly. I opened my eyes and she was in my face smiling.

"Hey"

"Hey" she said.

"Why did you wake me up?"

"Because I'm hungry" she smiled.

"What you want to get?"

"Pancakes and eggs and sausage" she said.

"O.." I was cut off.

"Oh and some fruit" she said.

"Ok let's go brush out teeth and wash out faces before I start cooking."

"Ok" she got up from my bed and ran to my bathroom in my room. I got up and stretched. I looked at the time she I read 10:45 a.m. I sighed and got up. I walked into the bathroom and she had a toothbrush in her hand.

"Where you get that from?"

"From in this drawer" she pointed to the drawer that's connected to the sink. I grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste. I put some on mines and hers. Once we was done washing our faces and brushing our teeth we went downstairs.

I went into the refrigerator and got out the eggs, sausages, pancake mix and butter. Jaley sat at the island in the middle of the kitchen watching my ever move.

"My mommy use to make Minnie Mouse pancakes for me!" She said excitedly.

I turned around "you want those?"

"Yes please!" She smiled.

"Coming right up"

After we ate I ran her some water so she can take a bath. I called Cincere and told her I had to cancel my plans today for us. I told her what happened and that I'm a parent now. She was sad and happy but she understood. The social worker came and investigated she said that Jaley could stay. I was so happy but so nervous because I'm now a parent and I heard parenting is easy when they younger but harder when they get in they teenage years.

Me and Jaley was going shopping because she didn't want her old clothes anymore.

"Jaley come on" I said.

"Ok mommy" she ran down the stairs.

She's been calling me mommy for all this morning. I don't mind, then I do.

"Jaley are you comfortable with call me mom or mommy?"

"Yes your my mommy now. I know who my real mommy is but she gone so your my new mommy" she said smiling.

I sighed "I just don't wanna make you uncomfortable"

"You don't. I love being here with you" she said.

"And I love having you here with me. It might be much but I gotchu ok?"

She nodded her head and we did our handshake that she made up this morning.
