Third Wheel ;; Yoon Sanha

"How are you going home today?" asked Bora, linking her arms in mine after school was over. "Bus I guess" I shrugged "Why'd you ask?"

"I'm gonna ask Sanha to walk with me" she smiled. "Cool" i replied.

"I'm gonna start giving him hints" she shrugged. 

Oh Boy...

"What sorta hints?" "Um.. I don't know I'll just confess maybe...." she said looking at the sky. I kept silent.

"Well, I'll get going then" I said when we reached the entrance and Bora nodded and waved at me. 

"I'll tell you how today goes okay?" she said and I smiled in reply before walking away from school.

While walking home, I texted Sanha asking him where he was but I got no reply. I assumed Bora already saw him and my mood went down.

Once I got home, I bid farewell to the stone I was kicking all the way from school to home and washed up.

The fact that Bora and Sanha had a very good chance to start dating annoyed the crap out of me. Since it was still only 3:30 i decided to weed the garden to de-stress and then have some ice cream later.

I showed all the anger I had in my by pulling the weeds but unfortunately it was of very little help. And my dad watching the telly in such a loud volume only added to my misery.

Me and Sanha knew each other first. I probably liked Sanha first. Sanha always tells me everything first and likewise for me. Sanha always asks my opinion for many things before he asks anyone else and I do the same.

But Bora is prettier than me, she is more popular than I am, she has more friends than I do, she is thinner than me, she is more social, she can act cute, she can probably do a whole lot of other things girls are supposed to and is good at a lot of things I am not.

I could've been honest and told Bora that I like Sanha too. But I was scared of two things. She might laugh at me and remind me she is better than me in every way or she might feel hurt and not see me as her friend anymore but her rival. I've seen a lot of friendship goals get broken because of a guy. I didn't want that to happen between us.

And I don't speak out my thoughts. Ever. I should be Bolder and stronger but I just can't sometimes. I always put my preferences behind and put others first.

Pulling the weeds were not helping me get all these out of my head.

"You're pulling out the plants as well" I heard Eunwoo's voice and automatically rolled my eyes but internally freaked out when I saw that I was indeed pulling out the plants as well.

"Why are you here?" I asked him. "To make sure you don't destroy your Mom's garden" he replied and took his position next to me and started pulling the weeds as well "And to show you something else" he smiled.

I raised my eyebrows and he brought a basket from behind him which revealed one of the puppies from the shed, making me squeal in delight. I picked it up from the basket and rubbed my nose against it's.

"Ew its not smell resistant" commented Eunwoo but I didn't really bother to kick him because this little puppy was beautiful.

"I took Beagle Sanha and gave the rest to a shelter" he said and scooted closer to rub the dog. "What do you want to name it as?" asked Eunwoo.

Just then my dad decided to increase the TV volume even more. NOW WE WILL WATCH THE GREATEST HARRY HOUDINI MAGIC EVER screamed the TV.

"How about Houdini?" I asked and Eunwoo wrinkled his nose. "Even you can come up with something better than that if you try" he said.

"Houdini it is" I said Firmly and Eunwoo sighed. 

Just then My mom walked into the garden and screeched. Not by looking the pulled out plants but by looking at Houdini.

"He's so cute! He's ours right?" she squealed "Do I get to name him?" 

"Mom you're over 35 act your age" I laughed. "She already named him" said Eunwoo between laughs.

"Whats his name?" "Houdini" I replied. "Is our little Houdini hungry eh eh eh?" she asked Houdini, rubbing her nose against his.

"Well I have to get going now" said Eunwoo and got up, dusting his butt. "Hope that helped in forgetting whatever you were thinking that made you sad" he winked before running off.

"Iseul is anything wrong?" my mom started but I snatched Houdini and ran upstairs into my room before she could start her 'You know you can tell me anything' speech. Not that I didn't appreciate it but I wasn't ready for it.

My phone buzzed once I was done cleaning some space in my room and making a small bed like space using cushions and cardboard boxes for Houdini.

I had received a message in the group chat consisting of me, Bora, Sanha and Eunwoo.

Bora: Guys, Me and Sanha are officially together now :)

Sanha: Yep ^-^

Eunwoo: Congratulations you both

Eunwoo: I'm a little shocked because this was so sudden.

Sanha: I know but it just happened.

Bora: I still can't believe it tbh

I didn't bother reading after that and I didn't bother congratulating them either. I didn't feel happy for them at all. This was not I wanted.

I wasn't ready to smile at them tomorrow and look at them together.

I received a couple of messages form Bora probably telling me how today went but i didn't open the chat.

I flopped down on my bed and a muffled scream came out from me. I felt pathetic and useless.

My phone buzzed and I saw that it was Eunwoo calling. I wanted to reject the call but I attended it by mistake.

"Are you alright?" I heard his voice from the other end and sobbed harder even though I tried to control it.

"Should I come over?" he sounded worried. "No" I managed and shook my head even though he couldn't see it.

I ended the call before he could say anything else and hugged Houdini, my sobs falling on his fur, making him look at me with huge eyes which made me feel a bit better.

More than them being together the fact that Sanha hadn't bothered to inform me personally but rather through a group chat bothered me a lot. So I didn't matter enough.

But it was also a good thing he didn't tell me personally because I would've seemed even more pathetic if I had cried in front of him.

I didn't sleep that night and I didn't open my window when I heard Sanha throwing pebbles at it.

I didn't get to have my ice cream either.
