The movie, as Piper had said, was truly so bad it was good. After it ended Annabeth spent over fifteen minutes just laughing with Piper.
She had forgoten that she felt uncomfortable about the hand that held onto to her waist.
They had eaten during the movie from the picnic basket that contined things that looked like those mini pizzas but they didn't taste like the ones Annabeth's father warmed up in the microwave for her. Piper said her father's personal chef had cooked them from scratch and Annabeth was impressed.
She and Piper were now sitting among the many fluffy pillows talking about their favorite momments in the movie.
"And the part where they were bribbing each other with the same twenty dollar bill, priceless!" Piper exclaimed.
"And when the dude got shot but he was still stumbling around the room like a moron!" They both cracked up.
"And the love story was worse than some of the things I read on Wattpad I don't know who would pay for this thing to be made with a relationship like that" Piper said still chuckling.
"I had a very nice afternoon. Thank you." Piper whispered turning to look at her. Her eyes had darkened along with the sky, almost black.
"You were the one that asked me out and then made all this. I should be thanking you." Annabeth said looking away from Piper and staring at the sky.
"Do you know the constelations?" She asked out of the blue, feeling much more comfortable all in all after laughing so much. That's why she chose a comedy, genuine laughter wards off awkward moments.
"Only a few. My grandpa always tried to teach them to me along with the myths. Cherokee myths of course, he didn't believe in anything that wasn't from the tribe."
"I know quite a few. Here, tell me the ones you know, I'll help you look for them"
Piper smiled and scooted right next to Annabeth facing the sky towards the beach.
"I think I can find Ursa Minor on my own it has a pretty distinct shape." Piper stated looking at the sky intensely searching for the group of stars.
"Oh yeah" Annabeth said folowing her gaze and realizing she was entirely wrong where she was searching.
"Yeah. Everybody says it looks like a bear and some people in my class said it looks like a pot but I just say it looks like Davy Crocket's hat" Annabeth burst out laughing.
"Well I think you'll have an easier time looking for Davy Crocket's hat that way." Annabeth said laying her hands on either side of Piper's face and turning her head to the side. She could feel Piper's cheeks warming up under her fingers and she wondered if the feeling of her fingers would stay like it had with on her chin.
"Ok maybe I need a little bit of help." She muttered softly.
She kept looking at the sky and suddenly she pointed up. "There it is! Right there, Davy Crocket!"
Annabeth looked where Piper was pointing. "Yup, right there." Annabeth whispered and felt as Piper leaned her head on her shoulder. "Show me other ones." Piper asked looking at the sky dreamily. "Tell me their stories"
"Hmmmm." Annabeth hummed.
"I know a few myths. I'll tell you my favorite. Ursa Minor was once a real human. He was a son of Zeus, the Greek lord of the skies. You see these gods liked to go down to earth and seduce mortal women, they would bear their demigod children. But Zeus' wife, Hera, was jelous of Zeus' afairs with these women and so Zeus turned his child and the maiden Callisto into bears and placed them in the sky to protect them from his wife's fury."
