A/N: At ten thrity last night as I was snuggling up to sleep inspiration FINALLY struck for what to write in this damn chapter. Really my creativity just has the best timing ever.
After meeting her hero, Annabeth continued to have the best damn day of her life. Piper insisted on going out for ice cream. Gourmet ice cream. And as they sat in the car, each with their own tub of ice cream settled on their lap, though Piper insisted on trying Annabeth's every three scoops in case it tasted better than hers, Annabeth spotted a sign out of the corner of her eye.
FAIR - NEXT RIGHT
Annabeth had barely let the words slip from her mouth before Piper was already telling their driver to veer in that direction. Annabeth laughed as she thought about the last time she had been to a fair, all those years ago back when her dad hadn't married that wretch and they had both eating cotton candy until their stomachs hurts.
Piper strolled around with Annabeth's hand in hers, insisting they try everything they saw. Just as Annabeth thought that if she ate another piece of candy she would explode, Piper suddenly squealed and ran, dragging Annabeth behind her like a doll. They had reached the prize winning games.
Piper spent almost twenty dollars throwing rings at bottles until at last she won the giant stuffed bear that Annabeth had casually said she wanted. Annabeth stared wide eyed as it was shoved into her face. It was almost as tall as she was. She gave it a tight hug and as she swung it over her shoulder saw Piper pout. Happiness over came her as she quickly wrapped her arms around Piper's neck and swiftly pressed their lips together.
Both laughing at nothing and everything at once., they made their way to the ferris wheel, eaching holding one of the bear's hands and carrying it between them. The bear sat between them as they slowly rose above the small city, seeing the edge in which the lights faded awayand everything was black. Piper leaned across the bear just as they reached the top and gave Annabeth a tender kiss.
They exhausted every activity you could possibly do until finally the fair closed fo the night. They collapsed back into the car still laughing.
"I can't believe you tripped over the bear, you stained his little foot." Annabeth said, faking annoyance even though the event had only made her laugh as she pulled up Piper and saw her wide eyed face covered in grass and dirt.
"Little? That thing's foot is the size of my face!"
They bickered all the way back, both trying to push down their smiles and failing terribly. By the time they got back to Annabeth's house it was almost midnight. Everything stood still as they stayed on her porch, neither wanting the other to leave.
"Hey," Piper said breaking the peaceful silence
Annabeth hummed.
"Remember we're going to my dad's shoot Friday. ANd hey, I'm getting my liscnece the day after tomorrow wanna come?" She asked. Annabeth rolled her eyes and smirked at Piper.
"Do you really have to ask? I would go out to the supermarket to buy milk with you." Piper laughed and finally wnt in for her goodbye kiss. Annabeth couldn't believe how right it felt to have her lips aganist hers. Piper caressed Annabeth's face once more before standing and heading back towards her waiting car.
"You sure you can make it up the stairs with that bear?" She called back. Annabeth assured her that she and Barry would be fine.
Piper waved one last time as she slid into the backseat of the car.
Annabeth opened the door and squeezed the bear through the threshold and then heaved it onto her back as she tried to make her way to her room as silently as possible. She threw it onto her bed and slept on top of it, hugging it tightly and pretending it was Piper.
