Friday came alarmingly fast, and Annabeth felt nauseous with anxiety.
Her step family had really been on top of her all week, her step brothers either mocking her or looking away in disgust and her stepmother muttering angry words and horrible names at Annabeth when her father wasn't listening.
She hadn't seen Piper once all week probably because the girl had been swarmed by people who wanted to know about her date. Piper was basically a celebrity in school everybody wanted to know what she was doing becuase her dad was famous.
Annabeth honestly didn't know if she was relieved Friday had come so quickly or despreate that it hadn't been slow enough.
At school the only talk was about her, for the first time ever. And of course about Piper.
School ended and she didn't know what to do with herself. That was until the native american girl strode up to her for the first time since the day she asked her out. She had that winning smile on her face, her eyes walking the thin line between green and blue.
"Hello there, beautiful" she replied smoothly and Annabeth felt the color rising to her cheeks. "Shall we?" She said her voice as smooth and sweet as honey, calming most Annabeth's nerves.
I said most.
"I-i guess" Annabeth stuttered. Why had she agreed to this?!
"Great!" Piper exclaimed and linked her arm with Annabeth's leading her out of the school.
A black gleaming Mercedes Benz was parked right next to the entrance and Piper walked up to it opening the back door for her date.
Annabeth didn't know how she felt about stepping into a stranger's car but before she could let herself think about it too much she sat herself down. Piper walked to the other side and sat next to her, in the middle seat.
"Take us away, Fons" Piper said and relaxed inyo her seat. Without warning she wrapped her arm around Annabeth's waist pulling her closer.
Annabeth once again felt her cheeks heat up.
The car ride was silent and Piper never moved her hand from where it laid on Annabeth's hip.
★★☆★★☆★★
The car ride was eternal. But somewhere along the never ending trip Annabeth stepped out of the car.
Later she realized the car ride had ended. Piper had opened her door for her and as soon as Annabeth was standing laid her hand exactly where it was when they were sitting.
She led Annabeth to the sand. That's when Annabeth became aware fully of her surroundings.
The car was parked in the middle of nowhere on the sand. The place was completely empty. The sun was just barely brushing the horizon. How much time had they been in the car?!
They were in a beach. Annabeth noticed she was not at all dressed appropriately. And neither was Piper.
She didn't know how she hadn't looked once at Piper's attire but she hadn't. Piper was wearing a long worn out ripped jeans and a white tank top with a plaid shirt on top and converse.
Piper seemed to read her thoughts. "We're not going to the water. Unless you want to" she said turning to look at Annabeth with those absolutely entrancing eyes of hers.
"W-well if it's not the water what are we here for" Annabeth hated the way she stuttered.
"Well the movie of course" Piper said. She led Annabeth along the beach for a while, looking into the sunset and Annabeth's face every couple of seconds.
"What movie?" Annabeth finally asked.
"This one" Piper replied as if it were obvious. They had arrived at a little place set up nicely. There was a large white blanket on the ground with pillows and smaller fluffier blankets and a cooler next to it. Then there was a projector behind that and a large screen set in front.
"I think you'll like this one. It's so ridiculously bad that it's absolutely hilarious." She said
