"We should start moving and finding a way back to the resort." Paige suggested after we just lay by the bank for a little while. We all agree, and Zach helps me to my feet. It is then he noticed my cut on my cheek and he inspects it.
"It's just a scratch, I'm fine." I laugh and brush his hand away from my face. I see he has one on the side of his head as well, but I don't say anything about it. He looks at me for a second before letting it go and grabbing my wrist when he starts walking. "Zaaach. I can walk on my own." I say to him in a whine, which he chuckles and shakes his head at but doesn't let me go. "Zaaaaaach." I whine again and he groans.
"I don't caaaare. I feel like dragging you so that's what I'm gonna do." He says, earning some quiet laughs from our siblings. I huff and roll my eyes.
"You're so annoying, Zach." I say to him, and his smirks slightly and looks back at me.
"Maybe, but you like it." He says and sends me a wink, which I roll my eyes at but I can't help but feel my face heat up slightly.
No, I'm not blushing. No, no, no!
"As if." I chuckle, and he looks at me again. He puts his hand over his chest, faking hurt.
"Dang, thy fair maiden hast stricken thy heart by harsh words of torment." Zach says, and I laugh again, as do Gray and Paige.
"My god." I say, laughing a little.
"Awe you think I'm a God?" Zach says, an eyebrow raised as amusement danced in his eyes.
"In your dreams." I say, and I nudge his side, making him laugh a little at. After a while of walking, we come across a helmet. It's broken, and covered in blood. Human blood. Gray was the one to pick it up first, so he was starting to panic. I quickly took it from him and handed it to Zach, who tossed it a few meters away from us. That calmed Gray down a little.
"Guys. Look." Paige says, pointing to a crashed jeep.
"Stay here." Zach says, holding his arm out and going to it. Gray followed anyways, so me and Paige followed him as well. As Gray and Zach examined the jeep, I found a gun lying beside it. I checked it, and found it still had half of its rounds in it. I slung it over my shoulder, just as Zach and Gray looked over at me.
"You can shoot?" Gray asked me.
"A little. I learned how to a few years ago when I was thirteen from my cousin." I explained, and they nodded. Paige pulled on my jacket sleeve, and I looked where she was pointing. "Wow.. Sweet." I said, walking over to the almost hidden building. Zach and Gray followed me and Paige in the stairs. With a little help from Zach, we opened the doors. They creaked a little, but that was expected. I found an old dinosaur bone, and Zach found an old banner from the original park. He wrapped in around the old bone, then looked at Gray.
"Still have those matches?" Zach asked, and Gray opened his 'dork pack', as Zach called it, and gave him the matches. Once Zach had the banner lit, he took the torch from me and began walking. Being in this place, where the old park used to be, crept me out a little, so I reached out and grabbed a hold of Zach's hoodie sleeve. He looked over at me, but I was looking around us. He tugged his arm from me and I reached for it again, but I only grasped air. I looked over at Zach just as he slipped his arm around my waist, pulling me to him. "Better scaredy cat?" He whispered to me and I rolled my eyes but nodded anyways. I had one hand holding onto his hoodie sleeve while the other gripped his hoodie near his chest. He smirked slightly at me and I smiled slightly to myself, turning my face away from him for my hair hide it from his view.
After a while of walking around, we all saw a faint light ahead of us. We quickly made our way to it, and once we got to it we found out it was an opening to a garage. There were two jeeps in it, covered in plants and dirt. Zach and Gray went over to them while me and Paige looked at other stuff that was there, including a medical kit that had been there twenty years ago. I opened it, and found only a few things in it were still any good. I took the gauze, and the band aids. I also took the needle and thread from it too. There was bottle of water in it, but I questioned it. I mean, water was water, but it can go stagnant and stuff. I took it anyways and stuffed it all in my bag, that was surprisingly still completely fine.
