I walked into Mom's room and found her dress that she bought when she went to my ex-step-dad's work's yacht party. Yeah.
It was a short dress that was black and had peacock designs all over it. It was one of the things mom hadn't taken with her to grandmas. I have been obsessed with it since she bought it. I was two.

I slipped into the black dress and heels and felt immediately sexy.
Then went into her bathroom and put on her makeup that she left behind. I guess it was only her mask against Trace's abuse. I had never put on makeup except for the talent shows at school. I had no idea what I was doing.

But I carried on and it looked semi-decent.
I then got into my 2015 Silverado and drove to the party.

When I arrived, the wood cabin was all decked out in multi-colored Christmas lights and red-solo cups. There were already people passed out on the lawn. I saw Shawn laying on the couch inside. The door was standing wide open and the music was blasting so loud that I couldn't hear my own thoughts. I ran over and jumped on Shawn waking him up, out of his drunken daze.

"What the eff?"
"Shawny?"
"Court!"
"Hey."

He then passed back out on my lap and I couldn't stand up. But then I shook my way out from under his head and headed to the life of the party. Kyle Lakes. Surprisingly enough, his outfit is exactly the same as my last day of school. I somehow got the nerve to walk right up to him and tell him how nice of a party this was.
I honestly don't know how I got the nerve, if I can't even talk to boys. But I was going to continue. No matter, what.

He looks so cute!
"Courtney?"

"What?"

"Will you go with me?"

"What?"

"To 'The Room'"

"Oh, sure...?"
