The front door opens revealing mom.

She looks at me but in less than a second, Thomas catches her eye. Quirking a brow, she asks.

"Can you give a reasonable a real explanation to why you are out of school so early and who is this boy?" She snaps. I've never felt embarrassed before, why am I feeling embarrassed now?

"Umm, this is Thomas." He extends his hand politely for my mom to take.

"Thomas Brodie-Sangster." He warmly smiles. Her face softens and she shakes his hand.

"Mrs. Jordan." Thomas gives me a confused look to why her last name was Jordan and not Costanza. I tensed up that he'll find out but then shrugged it off, or pretended to.

"And um, he needed a place to stay so i offered him your service." I finish.

"Come in." She moves aside to let Thomas inside. She led him to the living room, as Thomas was making his way to a sofa, my mom pulled me by my forearm behind a wall so Thomas wouldn't see us.

"Don't you think I will forget about you ditching school." She hissed.

"I didn't dit-" I tried whispering back.

"Shut it! I don't to hear more about your idiotic reasons. I will tell your father!" She warned me quietly. Oh No.

"No don't. Please." I begged. My father is.. Is.... no.

She smirked and pushed me aside, then she walked into the livingroom. I don't know why but at this moment I just want to be with Thomas. Surely my mom won't make a move as long as he's here. She wouldn't want to look like the bad guy in the story.

I made my way quietly into the livingroom. I spotted a seat away from mom and not very close to Thomas so I took it. I crossed my legs cautiously and held onto my forearm. It hurt from my mom's death grip. There will probably be a bruise. I know it.

"So Thomas." She gets his attention. "How old are you?" I chuckle and smile remembering mine and Thomas' arguement about our age. I look up at Thomas to find him already looking back at me. He let out a small cuckle before quickly answering back to my mom.

"I'm 25 years old, Mrs. Jordan. Turning 26 this April." He smiles, more at me than at my mom.

"25?" Yes, let it sink in. "Why, umm... Oh well, how long will you be staying?"

"I don't have an exact date for that but I know that it will be for quite the time." He plays with his fingers.

"Let me show you to your room. And... Chrissy," I stop looking at Thomas, which i didn't know I was still looking at him, and I payed my attention to my mother. "You're father will be home in a minute or two. Wait for him." She says nicely but deeply inside I know what me meant. Oh my father.

Thomas gave me a glance and I simply turned away from it. No matter how warm and protective it felt to look at him, I knew that I wouldn't feel this way in a minute or two. My father will be coming home, soon, and I was at home early. I shouldn't be at home early. He would probably think I ditched or something and that is not a good thing. He is going to kill me. Literally.

If you only knew my parents...

Thomas and my mom disappear upstairs and as they do so, I quickly stand up and pace the room looking for anything. ANYTHING. Ideas, excuses, or anything I can make up for my father so I don't have to face his dark side. Either way, there is no beautiful in him. I don't even know what my mother so in him. He is....

A familiar noise interrupts me from my thoughts. The door. Oh crap!

As I heard heavy step getting closer to the living room, I quickly start pacing once more not knowing what to do. Or even say. My mind was blank and as i was about to think of the most stupidest idea, he speaks.
