Halfway There

"He should be almost done already Tay , you good boo?" Shonda asked rubbing my back

I looked at the clock in the waiting room and it was three something almost hitting four o'clock . Two hours felt like forever.

" I don't know if I can do it, I don't know if I can handle seeing him fresh out of his operation" I said staring at the ground.

The nervousness started to make me a little thirsty so I decided to walk out the waiting room to the water fountain to take a little sip, as I finished up I spotted my aunt from the corner of my eye walking towards me.

"Tay? Tay is that you?" She said across the hall

She hasn't noticed it was me cause she hadn't seen me since I moved out I even invited her to come see my new place but she been way too busy.

"Yea aunty" I said hugging her

"How you been baby? You look good"

"Good a little tired though" I said looking around hoping Joseph would hit the corner in the next five seconds

"That's good, you been up and down visiting your brother ain't it?" She asked

"Yea him and his friend" I said playing it off cause lord knows what she would do if she found out I was messing with a street nigga. "Ummm aunty where's Joseph?"

" chyy I don't know he ain't been home in few days keep calling me saying they got him doing overnight, so he spends the night At one of his partners house cause its closer to the job whenever he has to go back in"

"Really? Aunty how long is a few" I asked curiously

"Three maybe four days" she said blunt

"Ooo-kaaaay" I whispered knowing I wanted to say something else but I didn't want to get into all that it was none of my business.

My Aunt made her way to terehls room and I made my way back to the waiting room, I had already seen terehl when I first came in this morning, he was doing much better than before doctors say he should be waking up slowly in the next two to three days. I was happy but still concerned about Jason I still don't know the update on him cause three hours ago he went into the operation room alive I just hope he comes out the same.

I walked in and looked at shonda dead in her phone. Not talking literally but her eyes were glued to her touchscreen.

"Dang girl dre got you sprung, them big old frog eyes ain't leave that inbox yet" I said scaring her

"Oh girl, don't do that almost made me drop my phone" she said locking her screen and sliding he phone back in her Michael Kors handbag.

If it ain't one thing I don't know another bitch on earth that got as much MK shit as her, but by the way she was looking felt like she was hiding something but I'm sure it's probably nothing major just a little dre drama that's all I hope.

"You done got happy quick what happened out there?"

She asked

"Nothing I'm just trying to say positive not trying to think of the worst right now" I said breathing heavy

"Mrs. Tay'sha Walters?" One of the nurses said interrupting our conversation

"Yes that's me" I said standing up

"Your husband is all done, would you like to see him now?"

I shouted a little on the inside cause I knew he had to be alive the way she smiled at me.

"Yes I am" I said following her

As we walked I couldn't help but think how he looked, I couldn't wait to kiss him all over his face even though I know he's still in a coma, but for how much longer now?

We reached the operation room where the nurse slowly opened the door to let me in."right this way Mrs.Walters" she said leading me in.

I followed her all the way to the back where I seem Jason's legs first, I heard his machine loud and clear telling me he's alive and breathing. As I got closer to the curtain my heart began to skip different beats at time. I wondered a lot of things, cause I really didn't want to touch no one that's fresh out of surgery I might fuck around and hit something causing them to die that was always my fear.

The nurse pulled back Jason's curtain and I immediately began tearing up when I seen his neck wrapped up in bandages.

"He's A very strong man Mrs.walters, you're lucky to have a husband like him" the nurse said walking away .

"Thank you".

I sat down next to his bed just staring at him, he looked so

peaceful the way he breathed so heavenly alongside the support machine, I was so happy he was alive but I hated seeing him like this. He had so many tubes connected inside of him just to help him breath and it looked so painful.

"I'll wait here forever and a day for you Jason" I whispered in his ear and gave him a kiss.

I held his hand for about three hours just talking to him about everything like school what happened at work just crazy shit. And for a second I thought he was finally waking up but the doctor warned me that he won't be out of his coma until a month later so his nerves are just acting up. It was almost eight o'clock and I hadn't realized how long I left shonda waiting in the waiting room I had to get home anyway cause I had a 10 o'clock class in the morning and I had to go to work since they gave me the weekend off when the boss found out terehl was my brother.

Phone vibrates.......

"Yea shonda I'm coming my bad" I answered without looking at the screen.

"No this Erik Tay , listen I know I'm the last person you want to talk to which is why we need to meet up ASAP , like real nigga shit Tay" he quickly said

"Erik why Are you calling my phone this late , wait why are you calling me period?" He murmured

"Listen Tay I'm really tryna protect you, you see that shit that just happened to your brother and Jason I think I know who had something to do with it and I'm pretty sure they gone try to come after you next just cause you're his girl"

"Wait Erik you were there?!" I whispered angrily

"Yea but I got arrested and now they try a charge me listen I would've got shot too but that's not the point I don't wanna say too much over the phone when and where can I meet you?" He asked

"Umm well I'm about to leave the hospital now"

"Ok Tay just to be on the safe side don't drive straight home whoever you're with just gone have to come wit you" he said

"Alright, where you tryna meet at and you better not be bullshittin me neither" I said

"Listen I'm gone text you, these people tryna tap my phone iight" he said hanging up

I hung up the phone staring At Jason wondering why Erik was the only not shot, then a text came in.....

Phone vibrates.......

"Meet me in the alley by Cheetahs the strip club around 8:30"

Why would he want me to meet him at a strip club? I asked myself. I gave Jason one last kiss then hurried out cause it was already 8:05 And we were all the way in west palm so it would take forever to get back to pompano.

I wanted to get to the bottom of this cause half of this shit don't make no sense. I grabbed my purse that was sitting next to shonda and said "let's go, we got some shit to handle".

She gave me a surprising look and followed I'm shocked her nosey ass ain't ask where we were going when I drove pass the exit to my house guess she was already down with the cause when put her mace in her bra and taser in the small pocket of he purse....Man I love my bitch Shonda
